Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Hey guys! I's been two weeks since I got my ride(Invincible Black). So far I've done only 250km. I thoroughly read the whole manual it says, not to exceed 4.5k rpm until 500km and and 5.5k afterwards upto1k km and first service. I'm following the manual properly. Any additional tips on run-in & gear shifting for me?
Another question, Does the paint on tank peels off with time? And, do I really need a tank pad?Last edited by Sonu Joshi; 06-10-2013, 06:08 AM.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
As far as I know rpm limit is 5k for first 500 kms and 7k for upto 1000 kms after that. Atleast that was written in my manual.Originally posted by Sonu Joshi View PostHey guys! Another question, Does the paint on tank peels off with time? And, do I really need a tank pad?Yes, Rocker is right. I don't have the manual with me right now but its around that range. @sonu: Yes bro its advisable to get a tank pad else you will have way too many scratches around that region.(it will cost 450 rs and you can get it at any Yamaha Showroom). And well you can take the bike over the specified RPMs once in a while.... just make sure that you are accelerating gradually. Also, avoid lugging the engine and shift gears around 3-4k RPM for now. Well that's all what I did. And yeah don't ride without the riding gearsOriginally posted by rocker View PostAs far as I know rpm limit is 5k for first 500 kms and 7k for upto 1000 kms after that. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Yes, It was 5k - 500km and 7k - 1k km. I read the manual on very first day and forgot the actual limits just because I was being careful and set my benchmarks upto 6k(that is what I recall) rpm until first service. Offcourse I'm buying gears this weekend. Adding tankpad to the list. Thanks a lot for these suggestions.Originally posted by Shubham@bikez View PostYes, Rocker is right.
