The ride can be become tiresome if you are falling out of the requirements, let me quote it in simple form.

    1) Body posture plays an important role in handling the bike. Wrist, neck and back pain are vanished if you sit in the required manner. R15 V2 demands a super sport type posture, gripping the tank with your inner thighs and then leaning forward is the apt position.

    2) Take enough breaks for hydration and food. Keep your body replenished at all times.

    3) Wear safety gears at all times. My observation is - A wind cheater causes the body to tire out quickly than a motorcycle safety jacket. The logic behind this is the flapping of jacket material tires out the body. If you have noticed a full ventilated mesh or textile jacket does not flap when riding at high speeds (60-100kmph). You feel composed, this is one of the major contributors for having a stress free ride.

    4) Snug fit helmet, a helmet which is wobbling at high speeds will cause neck and somewhat back pain. Wobbling of helmet also affects concentration on road. Ear plugs are necessary to reduce wind noise, wind noise over certain decibels and time causes strain on your ear muscles which are squished inside the helmet. DO NOT WEAR EARPHONES AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR EAR PLUGS, YOU MAY NOT HEAR THE TRAFFIC BEHIND YOU.

    5) Clothing apart from safety gears should be comfortable enough to move about on the motorcycle.

    6) Plan out your route properly, choose a route which is well known to you. Posture during rough roads is also important. Keeping the body stiff will tire you out easily and quickly, be flexible.

    7) I have also observed that on the R15 if you are not fit the body takes the beating, Im heading to the gym these days to keep myself fit. The change in handling can be experienced.

    8) Keep your bike in tuned condition. It is very important for the motorcycle to be functioning in appropriate manner. Air pressure should be accurate as mentioned in the manual.

This proves that it is not only the rider but the apparel, motorcycle and the overall dynamics creates a stress free ride. You keep the above mentioned points in your mind and trust me guys even city commute will not be tiresome. For newbies who have wrist pain can refer to this post to solve the problem.

    Hope this helps.

kind of a odd question. 2 to 3 hours in city traffic hurts. highway i really doubt it. after doing numerous rides with new riders i can say that it wont hurt. if its hurting then you are not doing something properly. i agree with most of the things eshan said and are correct follow it. but dont take too many unnecessary breaks. this will make you body hungry for more breaks. (personal experience). riding gears are very important too. not just for safety but to keep you body form getting hit by those strong winds which will make you tired. keep your toes on the footpegs and not the heels, sit at proper distance form handle depending you arm length and also dont put entire pressure on palm, keep the hands bent little.

since your question says "continously for 2 to 3 hours ", i would recommend you to start doing 30 to 40 odd kms at a stretch first and keep increasing it. 2 to 3 hours would mean around 150kms to 200kms keeping decent speeds. u will need 2 butt breaks oh yes and wear a trouser thats not got rough material, your butt will suffer. jeans are good but few jeans are not very rough, especially old ones.

              Got a question..

I noticed at the end of the v2's swingarm there are two threaded holes, one on each side of the swingarm.

Is that where the swingarm spools are supposed to go?

What size is the thread for that two holes?

              Thanks

PS: I just realized that the two threaded holes could be used for the rear mudguard, but I am unable to confirm as our v2 in Singapore doesn't come with the mudguards installed..

Ya dude you are right the holes are meant for mud gaurd as r15 is manufactured in india and exported round the world and as per indian rto rules mud gaurd is compulsory in any bike.

Can you attach a pic ? It could be for the saree guard of the Indian Version.

No. I want his bikes pic. He might be referring to the hole that the saree guard is connected. They dont have a saree guard like us. So the screw holes for the saree guard might have caught his attention, or maybe its something else he's referring to. So, I need his pic to clear his doubts.

@all - Stryker completed one year last sunday. Odo reading was around 19,000+.

To sum it all, the R15 has been a superb experience. Its completely on a different level than the Pulsar I had before. I mean, riding the bike, expenses for the bike, overall ride quality is completely at par with its elder siblings. Yamaha has surely invested a lot in the machine as well as other components of the bike, no wonder it costs more than others. All 7 servicings have taken place as per the mentioned scheduled and to tell you guys, I havent spent more than Oil, Oil filter and Air filter costs. Yes, those swing arm greasing, fork oil change is all due or rather not required till now. The bike is smooth like new, I have no clue why some members have posted replacement of chain sprocket so early say around 10-15k kms. Its 19,000 and still going strong. I suggest please go according to the schedule mentioned and you will not have any problems with the bike, the manual is your bible. Maintenance costs are also affordable on the bike, twice the brake pads have been replaced so far, blame it on my daily commute or hard riding, tires are due but I guess they will survive monsoons!

Here's the picture. I was wondering if this hole would be strong enough for a swing arm spool..
