      You can't be so selfish.

one thing i wanna point out is: yes r15 is one of those bikes which asks for revvs. but you need to know that even race bikes (which are ridden the crap out of them) last for one race or very few races. so we cant actually do that to the r15. hard riding for sometimes if fine, but do not take that for granted.
Ya thanks, but i dont think 8k is too hard is it ??

tell me about it. these days i am working on my corner exit speeds. the only way to get any drive out the corner is to keep the engine spinning over 7k and then pinning the throttle to the stop as you pick up the bike on the exit. with the engine screaming you wait for something to happen but it just leaves you wanting for more. everything on this bike (tires, chassis, suspension) is way over specced for the amount of power it makes. redlining on the r15 is a fact of life. ;-)

oh yes love that feeling when i twist the wrist while exiting the corner for a moment nothing wrong in assuming that you are rossi he he he

the other day had been to abhis house. as i stood beside my bike, it was around 10, abhi was busy with something. i said looking at my bike "wish it had a 250cc engine, perfect body for a 250 ". abhi suddenly stops his chatting over the phone, stands beside me and starts dreaming like me :P ha ha both of our eyes had hearts seeing the bike lol. epic moment it was wish it gets real in a year atleast,

                  1. Does it have 55w bulb or 35w bulb ?
                  35W Bulb
                  2. Tell me long term review, about the battery.
Battery changed to 5 Amp. No Issues.
                  3. Does it cause any wiring problems ?
Wiring done by Navnish had no problem. JC road guys touched it once to just put hazard light and the battery drained off due to bad wiring I guess. It's fine now.
                  4. And any other mods made to fit in the lamps ?
It's almost a straight fit. The glass has to be carefully separated from the front fairing and then sealed back using Industry standard Sealants. That makes it complete.
                  5. The fittings looks perfect, pls name from where it is done if you know it and the complete cost involved.
Cost : 12K including black spray paint of the reflectors, 2 Ballasts, 2 35W HID bulbs and the projector setup
                  6. Whats your opinion ? Go for it or stick to stock ?
Stock is really weak. If money permits, Go for the complete setup mentioned in the previous point, else just upgrade the stock bulbs to HID. It's going to be irritating to onwards traffic though.

yup, i am with on that one. for spirited riding in the city i'd say 250 is about perfect. enough torque to carry a passenger and enough power to ride on the expressways.
lets hope the rumors are true and that Yamaha brings us a 250 in 2014!

Excess of anything is harmful but shifting at 7-8-9k on a R15 is no big deal. Riding fast doesn't kill the engine, rapid acceleration kills. You can go gradually to 8-9k and can ride the bike around 100-110 all the time, it will never harm an engine but if anybody wants an engine like new than it should be new right not used as everything degrades over time. But I am sure R15's engine is meant to last atleast five years with proper maintenance if you ride 20k kms a year.

Felling some harsh vibs at handlebar and footpegs alone.
                              No vibrations at tank.
Also the bike doesnt handle well after the chain tightening.
Friends, Any guesses for the problem ?

                                my guesses:

                                1) chain slack set too tight?
                                2) rear wheel correctly aligned with respect to swingarm pivot?
                                3) axle nut tightened properly?
                                4) if i were u, i would take the bike to the svc, pronto.
