Wrong. Actually the weight put up on the right side is balanced by the manufacturer by designing the bike in such a way. And still after those under-bellied bikes out there, why is R15 still considered the best handler? Think bro . Under bellies doesnt always make good handling. Its the manufacturer and the designing elements that aid handling. Look at the best in class S1000RR , even the new GSXR has lost one silencer and have just one. Doesnt that put weight on one side?? Well it doesnt. Thats why manufacturers take years to design a machine capable of superior handling.Originally posted by Dwi Nanto Saputra View PostRide, ride and ride.. Hi sachin, please email me when you can, my id is in my signature. want to look into the matter.Originally posted by Rashsac View PostHi Every one,
I am new to this forum.
I am in trouble due to my bike issue. Recently I got free 5th service done for my Yamaha R15 V2. But it is not satisfactory as the bike doesn't accelerate like it used to before.
When I clock 7K RPM It does only 65-70Kms/hr. Earlier it used to clock 90+ Kms @ 7-8K RPM. Can someone please help me in getting a good mechanic from Bangalore who can look into my bike issue?
I do not want to go back to Yamaha Authorized dealer (Bangalore Wheels) They sucks! I paid 3,800RS for 5th free service in the name of Periodic maintenance & some parts replacements. But they did not look into bike's basic issues that I mentioned above.
Thanks,
Sachin
True. but i guess he will be having helmet. some people out of excitement take pics like this. and the mirrors point is very good you told. i dont know how i missed that part.Originally posted by Sushrut View PostYes, your excitement is quite comprehendable, but you should seriously think of getting a helmet in first place and not to ride the bike without mirrors
you are one of a kind person who said that the exhaust does not look good. just yesterday my friend said that the exhaust looks sexy! i would advise you not to do that. the engineers at yamaha would have done loads of development and done this. playing with the any part of the bikes is asking for trouble.Originally posted by Dwi Nanto Saputra View Postyou know underbelly exhaust right?
well you will get more stable handling, because of the overall center of gravity was lowered which increasing the handling ability
that is why lots of new superbike this day use underbelly exhaust system rather then stupid undertail system.
there is no problem with side exhaust, but i just dont like it, it make the look of the bike ugly
+1 even i disagree on that part. motogp bikes are also examples. not all have under seat exhaust. looks should be treated differently and the other things should be treated separately.Originally posted by Ivin View PostWrong. People often focus on the sensory aspect a bit too much. Some get their motorcycles awfully fat tires [those kinds stay away from Xbhp thankfully] some get local made exhaust[Im not referring at all to leo vince or two brothers users, Im myself thinking of getting one] . These guys are ready to ignore the functional aspect. Case in point being a friend who got a second hand R15 v1 and swapped to a 100 section front and 130 section rear. That motorcycle handles scary, even its scary to ride her around town. He ignores all my statements regarding the stock tires says he needs more grip, that the stock tires tend to ''skit''[lol]

Ironically I never had the guts to change the tires when I had the v1. I was just so scared because it handled so well with stock. But it could be that handling might have different meaning to different people. :POriginally posted by Sushrut View PostPeople often focus on the sensory aspect a bit too much. Some get their motorcycles awfully fat tires [those kinds stay away from Xbhp thankfully] some get local made exhaust[Im not referring at all to leo vince or two brothers users, Im myself thinking of getting one] . I got Stryker's 5th service done. Suvarnarekha Auto, Karve Nagar. The best part is that I choose that one mech guy (Baldy Fellow) to service my bike, also, the entire servicing happens in front of me so I know what is plonked in and also get to understand the working of couple of parts. That mech is a gem out there, I was there yesterday with a friend who got to know couple of things too, A Slow ABS CBR fellow :P .
Costs -
1) 15w50 Yamalube SS - Rs505
2) Air Filter - Rs237
Total - Rs742
a) Got the coolant level checked ,well in limits.
b) Spark plug might need replacement in next to next service.
c) Batter level checked
d) Chain sprocket adjusted. IMP - The new rates for V2 chain sprocket kit are Rs 2700 in total + Rs200 for installation. Chain sprocket kit on my bike will last around 27,000-30,000 kms as per my riding.
e) I have no clue why some members are opting for a tire change so early? I have seen couple of cases where they are going for a tire change around 12 - 15,000kms. When I dropped my bike for servicing, the mech performed the coin test to let me know your tire hasn't even completed half of its life. I found an article just read more to know when to change tires. Tire Tread Depth, New, Gauge, Chart, Safe, Minimum
f) Gear shifts have smoothness in their functioning, I think the engine has settled by now.
The bike was delivered by 12pm after dropping it at 9am. A scary incident happened yesterday, I forgot my ATM card in the machine in haste, half an hour later when I removed my wallet to pay in Macd, that time I was like SHIT.
I'm attching a pic of my bike and the price list for labor charges in Suvarnarekha Auto for the R15. Please go through. Also, the servicing did't cost a bomb.

Guys got my Baby R in white L.E on 9th
the baby is butter smooth, no probs in handling even in rush hour traffic
i used to ride a 220 before and initially for two days had some back ache probs due to seating position...but its perfect
now wenever i ride other bikes it feels like as if im riding those 3 wheel cycles wen we were young
, 280 kms done till today, although i want to revv it hard ....but not doing so keeping in mind the run in ie 60kmph/5k rpm inside 500 kms , also have one query ! can i switch to motul 15w50 instead of yamalube 15w50 as i heard its better than factory yamalube ? well anyway here is a pic of my baby R i call it the HAWK

Runn in methods are always very controversial so you have to do good research before you accept anything. Even Manual.Originally posted by Roystandbz View Postoh alright! thanks

Understand why you need runn in ?? why is it needed ?
I would suggest you to follow the bible only, which you got along with R15 till 500kms and later with small burst you can ride it with control wrist under recommended rpms upto 1k kms.
But remember Don't keep riding hard before 1st service.
Remember the following:
1. Don't ride at constant RPMS (low or high)
2. Vary the rpms.
3. Let bike warm for 1-2 min before you start the ride.(Morning must)
4. Don't go for any long rides/trip making it heat, avoid heating.

1) How can your prove a manual wrong since you have mentioned it to be controversial.
2) Why are you contradicting your own point? one side you mention manual and other with your own knowledge.
Please explain.sigpic
