  • Guys,need some info.
In my place(kerela),RTO is not allowing to register V2 r15 anymore for safety reasons(high pillion seat) recently.
Showrooms are giving back the booking amount.
My friend is waiting to get a v2.Any one knows/experiencing such problems?

Killer pic Ashaq54, if Yamaha sees this I'm sure they'll pic it up for advertisements.

One of the best pics I've seen of this bike. Brilliant work.

Thank you all for the appreciation.

i did get the wheels repainted to golden in my V1 as well, around 2 years back. it looks really good.
for the V2, i got the paint-job from a local workshop, my trusted mech-shop for last 3 years. cost came to around 2000 Bucks. not sure whether it was powder-coated or spray paint. but, from previous experience I can tell this paint will stay for a long time.

              • This problem was only with the Cochin RTo, apparently some Big guy had his son injured or something in a crash and ordered or some nonsense like that. SHould subside in a few days or in a week or so. But wasn't this the case about 2 months back, i'm surprised that it's not available now. In my place the V2 is being sold in good numbers even now. No such problems here. Try getting the bike from another showroom and register at a different RTO or somehting.

hard to beleive right ? but sadly this was the condition at Cochin about 2 months ago. Really , all i can think of is how sad the situation is for the Biking scene here.

Yes, your excitement is quite comprehendable, but you should seriously think of getting a helmet in first place and not to ride the bike without mirrors

I am new to this forum.

I am in trouble due to my bike issue. Recently I got free 5th service done for my Yamaha R15 V2. But it is not satisfactory as the bike doesn't accelerate like it used to before.

When I clock 7K RPM It does only 65-70Kms/hr. Earlier it used to clock 90+ Kms @ 7-8K RPM. Can someone please help me in getting a good mechanic from Bangalore who can look into my bike issue?

I do not want to go back to Yamaha Authorized dealer (Bangalore Wheels) They sucks! I paid 3,800RS for 5th free service in the name of Periodic maintenance & some parts replacements. But they did not look into bike's basic issues that I mentioned above.

                      Thanks,
                      Sachin

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

just wondering, have you ever seen yzf r15 with underbelly exhaust setup like on p200ns
because i hate using side exhaust, and undertail exhaust is just stupid.

Go to some local silencer makers. They will do it for you, but your bike will lose its charm , ride ability and more over the handling
Think twice before you do once

                              you know underbelly exhaust right?
well you will get more stable handling, because of the overall center of gravity was lowered which increasing the handling ability
that is why lots of new superbike this day use underbelly exhaust system rather then stupid undertail system.

there is no problem with side exhaust, but i just dont like it, it make the look of the bike ugly

just an Fyi, removing the side exhaust and moving the exhaust underneath the bike, you would actually be moving a few kilos from the right hand side to the center.

I tried just removing the exhaust and trying to run without it on my first bike, it was actually like hell while cornering. This was on an Energy FX in 05. I'm not sure how the R15 would respond but as a personal advice just keep the mod to be reversible without much hassle, just so that you have a safe bet

Btw, I agree with your point on the underseat exhaust which only compliment the looks but on a sports bike while compromising performance. moreover there is no worry of the exhaust getting scratched in a fall I personally love the underseat but on anything else apart from sports bike.
