Have you changed the chain sprocket set yet ?
I was advised by the SVC in my 6th servicing itself to do so, but I didn't as there seemed to be more life in the chain.
Now ODO reads 17K and chain needs tightening after every 750-800 kms. Took it to another SVC and they said it can go little more.
What do you suggest or your experience on that.
The SVC mechanic told me that my chain n sprocket set is good to go for another 3k kms atleast (currently running at 18.5k kms). I myself want to know more on how to know when the sprockets have lost their life. Ivin had posted some time back stating that the sprocket teeth become sharper when worn out. I tried comparing mine with a relatively new r15, both looked similar to me If somebody could post pics showing the difference, that would help.
Further, I have a query on x ring vs o ring chain set which I had posted earlier. Did not fetch any replies though

                  • Not True..

There is nothing wrong with the fork or anything.
R15 is the best bike you can buy in India, in terms of quality.
there is crb250 duke which also has same level but more expensive and also not in the same Category (being naked\street and sport\tour)

I trust an Yamaha, let it r15 or crux more than "any" bajaj or tvs or hero bikes

Yamaha bikes have a soul and hence a " never die " attitude.

                    And Forks again,

Believe me, i ride it over the Bangalore humps w/o slowing down significantly, and never felt like the bike\FORK is incapable for the punishment
                    And

One more incident, my friend was riding the bike and he missed an apex and ran wide, went off the road and went down the small cliff (abt 1-1.5m high) @ atleast 50kph.
thank god, he was able to control the bike. he didnt panic and let it run out. and landed on two wheels. but obviously the front wheel taking the punishment.
this was at night time and we had around 200kms more to go. he was carrying a pillion also. but i couldn't find any issues with the fork or anything. Till now (@9K)
I mentioned this to SVC guys two times, and asked to change the fork oil atleast. they thought that i am mad because they couldnt identify anything.
Still has the same fork oil, still riding hard, still hitting pot holes, Still punishing the forks, but more importantly, still loving the bike.

In the previous post you kinda criticized for the quality saying "Never happy with the service Yamaha Provides, never happy with the product quality (Fork Issue)" .... That got me worried and thats exactly why I asked about the front forks again... Don't mind

I was trying to say that people always complain about things. If you read few pages back, you'll see, paint is going, the tank paint is fading bla bla bla like that it goes.
And when someone is modifying their bike, then they buy the cheapest (not every 1 but most) product. Did you see the angel eyes couple of pages back. Thats what pissed me off.

-- The build quality of yamaha is not compromised, I have seen enough crashes, abuses on v1 and v2 and its actually the best you can get in this country.
-- forks won't go kaput for normal driving or even controlled aggressive riding, but if you are inclined to target every pothole you see. Well, yamaha gods aren't that forgiving.

-- Just two weeks backs, while on a ride to one of the ghats here around Pune, i was pushed to off road with all the big debris in world by a four wheeler. The bike danced, jumped but i came out alive. All this at 80 Kmph +. Believe me, if it was my pulsar. I would not have been writing this.

was he riding your bike ? if nothing is wrong then no need to worry.

and about the forks, who can be better to testimony on them than me or tj or rayhan. been on millions of pot holes, hundreds of bad roads with good speed. still no issues from the forks.

yes, that was a sarcastic comment.

yes my friend was riding my bike and i was in front with another r15. he was blindly following me and i was going @ good speed, then suddenly this turn appears with pot holes here and there and small rocks and dirt all over the road. (Everyone must be familiar with this )
I could not lean the bike because of the dirt and stones but somehow i made the corner but my friend couldn't as he was just following me.

                              Who said i am worried ? !
