How many kms on the odo??

A complete drain is required around 30-35,000kms. Also, my suggestion would be get it done at the SVC because it requires careful removal from the thermostat pin (a delicate part), the hose then comes loose. Do not fill direct coolant, some coolants require mixing of water.

Remove both side fairings, the side panel, one side will be the coolant container and the other side will be the coolant inlet cap. Unscrew and the chamber with hose comes loose.

My sincere suggestion is dont do it unless required or told by SVC, also get it done from them itself.

Hey Eshan, thanks for your reply bro. The thing is my bike is going to complete 1 year in a couple of days and I am planning to switch to Engine Ice, and moreover changing from one coolant to the other is an elaborate process and the SVC guys wont do it as per our requirements. Hence, the need to do it myself also, I could do it on my own in the future rather than carrying the colant seperately with me every time I need a top-up.

      • One quick question.
When i halt my bike on signal and make it neutral.
It doesn't go in 1 Gear. I press full clutch still
I need to take bike little forward and i can put it in first gear..
        Anyone else facing this issue?

Thats not an issue. it means the gear has not engaged properly. it would take a long time to explain . but if you know who things work you will understand it best would be google it. and yes its normal .

You need to be more careful while changing from 1st to 2nd. Make sure you hear the gear slot into place, otherwise here's something you can try: when shifting from 1->2 release the clutch while keeping the pressure on the gear lever and let go of the lever only after the clutch is fully disengaged.
be really careful when you use the word "Problem" i am sure someone will later come and tell its the "problem" with gear box of the bike :P LOL instead tell its the mistake of the rider that he didnt shift properly.

I dont know why you want to do this...
First do this when engine is cool.
After following the fairing removal as said by Eshan please use a socket and remove the drain bolt in the Engine which will be near the exhaust pipe. Then open the radiator cap. Coolant will flush out. To flush the remaining, start the engine and rev a little. It will pump out your coolant.

In case of refilling pls check the coolant bottle where you can find how much/whether to mix water.
              Hope it helps.

10days?? and that too with pillion.

Dude, get a grip on your riding first, My suggestion to you is first know how the R15 handles on your own and then go ahead with a pillion. Spend some time in knowing every detail and functioning. Spend a month's time in understanding its performance.

What you expereinced is quite normal, yes the gears need to be free first, you will get accustomed to it, its a rider error. Please go though this thread thoroughly to understand the functioning, errors, cons, positive aspects of the bike.

Avoid pillion till you dont get full control of your bike. I hope you are wearing the required safety gear - helmet, gloves and jacket for basic city commute.

Today is 25th day.. 550Km Odo reading
I learnt with pillion who was teaching me how/when to shift gears.
                    Working on U turns.Speed breakers.Signals.
yes i need to learn gear shifting more..
yes i wear helmet and gloves..
but normal jacket..not with the Padded once..

                    observations:
Its quite easy to ride single.
A lot of pressure on forearms when u have pillion.
my average is too low i believe..
                    25Kmpl i guess.
gear shifting is smooths at higher RPMs around at 3k-4K
Top speed 74 with 6th gear 6k RPMs
                    1st service done.

                    Correct me

No, i believe its a known issue with version 2, sometimes the second gear doesn't stick and falls back into neutral.

                      • My chain has become very loose.
Thought of tightening it up by adjusting the axle, but the rear wheel is at the maximum position of the axle play. So further tightening cannot be done there.
Is it possible to remove links from the chain or any other ways to reduce chain slackness?
Or I need a replacement. Its just 8500 Kms on the odo :-(

Mine is @18K ODO and it needs replacement now. As I could see from the swingarm that it's at the edge. 1 more tightening(~700kms) can be done but don't want to take that risk.
But 8500K is too less buddy....you might very well know but please get it checked in SVC itself about the chain life.
I don't think there is any other way other than replacing it(for the sake of bike) if it hits the edge.

Just curious, what is your normal usage of bike and how do you take care of chain ?

Dont intend on removing the links from the chain. Getting it up to the stock setup will be tough and not worth the effort. As kuntal advised check with the SVC. might be that constant high speeds on long rides may have abused the chain set. As they say in medical terms. Get a second opinion.

Not an issue at all mate. Never happened with me or with anybody from the group we ride in. Shift the gear well don't just tap it and everything will be smooth

Read and follow the OWNER's Manual. Keep it simple.. Old School technique will do more good than harm your bike

that happens in lower RPMs. not at higher. i face in once or twice in 100 shifts maybe. but i have realised that i used to apply less pressure to shift when i shift quick. so its human error and odd timing. sorry but i refuse to call it an issue.
