Man, seriously I guess calculating FE is the main problem of R15(V2) owners now.

I was looking at last few pages for last 3/4 days but anyhow restrained myself from replying just to avoid any unwanted aruguments.
Today after seeing Ron's reply, I was relived that it might stop people from posting such queries( i.e. why my pants getting wet with black colour, calculate my bike's FE and so on).
But here again, dude, i guess you've R15 for quite a long time and many(literally MANY) times it was posted how to calcualte FE(although I dont see why as this should be a Nursery level math to understand).
When you've filled the petrol when 'F' was blinking, then wait till it blinks again. As simple as that.

I guess there is no point in asking here to 'THINK before you post' to the members as some of the seniors have asked to do so several times but in vain.
For a solution, I would request seniors not to reply to any question which is answered before/in the manual/not worth a question.

I hope I could see the R15(V2) thread back again in it's glory someday!!!!

    Hi guys,

    * I'm going in for the 4th Service for my Baby R LE this saturday. Please give me a list of the basic things to be performed as part of the service.

    * Paint has chipped off in one small portion of the Tail. Can i use spray paint to cover it up?

    * Planning to add some cushions to my back and front seats. One rider told me that if I add cushions to the front seat, ill lose the grip and slip while cornering. Is this true?
    1. Same as your 3rd servicing i.e. oil,oil filter, coolant check up,chain lube(if you dont do it by yourself).
Please check the break pads, it may need replacement. But totally depends upon your riding.
    2. Yes, you can for sure.
    3. No, how can it affect your riding ? If you can sit comfortably after a little cushioning, it actually will improve your riding.
Friend in my riding group has done it with nis Ninja and he is happier than before

Searching 500 odd pages might be a issue to find fuel efficiency calculation method
why doesn't some one try collating all information on first page. Then again whose ready to scan through 500 pages

          HuuuH...
Firstly, it's there in last 5 pages.
And why do you think xBhp has provided 'search' and 'advanced search' options ? they should be having some purpose.
Moreover, if you need a document on small/trivial things like 'how to calculate' FE, then I've no words.

we are not actually asking them to check whole 500 pages. just few posts back i posted about how to calculate, but two posts later again same question do i need to say anything again? and these people have been following the thread from long time and also posted too. so all we are asking is to avoid silly questions If you go back few pages, then i have appreciated few guys for asking good questions about issues which even i was ignorant to. few days back @incipent was not happy with what was happening in the thread, which now i believe was valid. :/

did your GF left you or what, why are you being so rude.
if you have some problem with question asked which was first time from my side as everyone was in calculation of FE then please (Get yourself out of it)

              • @ Ron, Kuntal, Eshan : I agree that newcomers should first search the thread for related queries and solutions. But when newbies join, they care more about their new bikes, and so dont take any chance to go to older posts. Rather out of curiosity, they start posting their queries. If senior members want to reply, then they surely can without being rude, if not, then just skip the comment. Threads like this will continue only when newbies have some queries.

I have gone through much of this threads pages, I found ron/kuntal/eshan to be the senior here who were present here while the thread was almost new. At that time, even you all were new and had new bikes, so even you guys would have asked similar queries. Even me.

Its all human behaviour, nothing else. New guys come up here with a curiosity to get their doubts cleared. Hardly 30 to 40 % of newbies go back and read the valuable feedbacks and suggestions you guys have posted. I have printouts taken of your vimp posts. So its just different from an individual to other. Let them ask questions, thats my point.

No hard feelings towards anyone of you, you all have helped me clear my doubts about r15, you have helped me to know what the bike needs, how the bike works, how to maintain it. So thanks to you all for that. But all of us were "newbies" at one point of time .

i would like to ask the same question about what you've inside your head...has it left already?

Just like you, I too here visit the thread to get more knowledge. But everytime I only see some silly/repeated questions are asked. Just like you are getting pissed off with my reply, most of the people are here pissed off with such questions.
What do you mean by "which was first time from MY side" ?....so every member here will ask the same question agin and again though this has been answered several times. You've got some logic buddy!!

Let it be that the ones who were guided by the seniors would help the new ones as it is already going on. But still even if its tiresome direct the newbies stating them to go back through the thread in each and every post . In that case it would annoy the one who asks the question too. Nah.! Bro why are you apologizing. Seniors want the thread to be more meaningful by avoiding repetitions of same queries again and again and newbies want their doubts to be cleared instantly. Our thread is relatively smaller so the newbies can also check it out at any page. Still If possible someone putup a link in the front page for specific questions directing it to the specific pages(MILEAGE CALCULATION, RUN IN PROCEDURE etc.,) . Cheers

I can understand people getting irritated, frustrated, mad, pissed off and what not. But these kind of statements CANNOT BE JUSTIFIED in any way. This is a forum to connect with people sharing common passion - motorcycling. There is no place here for such personal comments. Pls see and think about what you have written before posting.

I dont want to add on to OT going on here. Each and every post points to a single thing and I am writing this for the nth and final time - before posting any query, pls use the 'Search' function once.

Ron, you really dont need to apologize. You patiently answered repetitive questions when most of us kept away from the thread. Those who posted those queries should thank you for that.

Edit: By the way, I have sold off my R15 since most of my rides are with my better half. Moved on to a CBR250R. Thanks Ivin, Ron, AbhishekSircar, suraj_vanse, nullphobia, Eshan, Nonu (ABikeratheart), Achiles, Kuntal, Mile Muncher and others, it was nice sharing ownership experiences with you guys.

I paid something like 250 bucks for my left mirror (Kerala) 3-4 months back.
has the price gone up ? but so much ? or taxes in Chennai.? Any idea?
