But the confusing part here is, if the above is true.... Then why top speed is affected by wind ??? Strange... Anyone can answer??
your bike will go at a given speed at a given rpm, irrespective of wind, pillion, luggage or whatever.

with more weight on the bike and/or headwind the load on the engine will obviously be higher and it will take longer to reach a given speed.
if you are still running-in then this is not good for the engine as i have already mentioned in a previous post.

Yes i know that......But why People say,You cant reach the top speed whn the wind is opposing you ????

      • A Note to all newcomers

        A Note to all newbies:

        - Please read the R15 V2 thread 'completely' ie. top to bottom then do the same with the R15 V1 thread (its even better). Believe me the time you will spend reading is totally worth it. You will learn a ton of (basic and also not so basic) shit and it will save you time in the future.

        - If newbies are allowed to keep asking the same old repeated, done to death questions, then eventually the thread as a whole will become worthless to everyone involved, because no can read through it all or find what the want through the pile of shit. And you will drive away all the knowledgeble and experienced members.
So, when the time come when you have a 'real' question one that you can't find an answer anywhere (including google) then they will be no one around to answer it.

        - Before you ask a question, please check first if it hasn't been already answered on the thread, only then post your question here.

wind and cross winds, if its blowing towards you then its opposing your force to go ahead. Physics is something which has its limitations, and we cant really pin point at what exactly happens when something different happens then usual there are times when i have seen my speedo not crossing 135kmph and there were times when it touched 153kmph
Personally, now i really dont care about the top end since i am through the phase where we will be crazy behind top speed, maybe i have come to terms with the power of r15 something will happen with all eventually.

          OT
@incipent, well put. that was a sensible post.

          • This deserved different post,

Went for a ride yesterday. Ride to Thalassery, Kerala. Total distance 680kms. went through the best and also little worse roads ever. Tj on his CBR250r, me on R15v2 and saquib on R15v2. left bangalore at 5AM, had breakfast at Hunsur, reached there by 1.30. had lunch. went to the Drive in beach, its name is really hard to pronounce. did the worse off roading ever, infact there were no roads for 12kms only huge potholes folloeed by 40 to 45 kms of bad roads , my body had issues today :P Bike rock solid as ever. the ghat sections near iritty were amazing and dangerous. me and Tj had "isle of man" situation on the stretch while going :P LOL witnessed crazyass bus and truck drivers as usual in kerala. thanks to ridermax for the heads up about bad roads, helped to be prepared for it.

Newton's 2nd Law of Motion. Wind is a force and depending upon how it's is being applied to the vehicle, it will cause a change in velocity (positive or negative). It's not a matter of what people say, it's a matter of physics.

But why do u guys fight brothers don't do as it spoils the image biking is something which is like love and not hate. Anyways one thing I would really appreciate here if u can just guide me this wrist pain is there for ever or u get settle down after some time the thing is I am 95 kg 33 years of age love this machine like anything mad for it u can say. The bike looks stunning, no words which can be expressed for this baby anyways coming back as I have told u my weight, age height is 5'7 now tell me should I go for this or Cbr 150? Thanx friends enjoy the beauty and the beast.
I believe more in we getting used to the wrist pain more than getting used to the seating posture. If you really mean the highlighted part, it would surpass all the wrist n back n forearms n leg pains. Go for it, you will love it.

                        • Clutch cable snapped yesterday after the smilestone ride. Also rear tyre suffered a puncture #14 in rear tyre. Gonna change the rear tyre ASAP. It is out of stock at lokmanya tyres and at MRF it's retailing for 3000 bucks.
Changed the clutch cable at Suvarnrekha SVC cost
                          cable - 88/-
                          fitting - 20/-

P.S. - 13 punctures happened in one single shot. 13 nails that too when my bike was just 50 days old and 1300km on the ODO

#14 was scary. approaching smilestone that big chicane .I was at the apex , leaning and then rear tyre went almost flat. bike wobbled and I went wide with inches of the tarmac to spare. Man that was experience in itself. :P Kuntal Remember the 6 PSI of air left in that Epic LOL moment
