    Hey,
My chain sprocket is still on and good for another 2K I guess. Regular cleaning at 600 - 700 Km interval with diesel and then Motul Lube got it running.

    My 20K experience
    Pros
    - The motorbike is wonderful piece of engineering and is surely a notch above all the same segment motorbikes I have ridden during my span of 50K road experience. Handling is unmatched.
    - Be it city riding/cutting, cornering, touring. Never disappointed. Always makes you feel craving for more and yes, definitely increases the confidence.

    Cons
    - My bad experience started when I took it for two back to back extreme off-roading tours, this machine is not made for that and I am suffering. No mechanic knows what to do, its all hit and trial and still trying to get it back to its original shape.
    - Very bad genuine knowledge of the machine among at SVC, its no better than bajaj and expensive. I don't mind paying the extra buck, but the quality isn't worth.
    - Attention seeker, tourers will understand the problem. But am ok with that.
    Ride On,
    Akshat

      Cool.
Same here about the regular cleaning and lubing both with Motul products only.
I guess many long rides(>=500 kms) took a toll on it. But anyhow it depends on many other factors as well. The 4 months of Mumbai rain and no covered parking must be one of the main reasons apart from the long rides. Anyway, not complaining

        • @Ron-Good part is that you received 95% of price.
it has happened to my one of the friend and police took it more than 6 months and that was pulsor 200.
and even i think that you should have gone for a new V2.

Mine is @ 17781 kms and will be up for 7th (the 1st paid) servicing asa it touches 18K.

I'll also be replacing the chain and chain sprocket.

@tdjbiking: is the price Rs/-2815 including the labour charge aswell?

                Hi,

@ kuntalnag : Rs 2815/- is only the spare parts as I shown in the pic.. Service done in MSP Moto World, Bangalore. They have charged Rs 300k (to replace chain sprocket) added other service charges like water wash, oil change etc..

@leodj: Its my pleasure to give a detailed review... Please I would take couple of days time. Held up with Office work even on weekends... :-(

                          • Hi Gang!

I'm relatively new to this forum. I'm planning to this bike maybe in next 2 weeks, I owned a RX 135. I'm kinda scared now after read this thread (almost 100 pages) people seems to know a lot about this bike and my knowledge is very limited when it comes to bike. I just Googleing stuff to understand the terms most of you use. I'm trying to learn but lot of stuff is going over my head. Will this be a problem after I take my bike because I hate to see my bike suffering due to my lack of knowledge and you all seems to identify issues rather quickly. Would you recommend this bike to a Newbie? I have one more questions to friends from Chennai, I heard this bike is technically very advance and most of the SVC people doesn't know what they are doing, Is there a good place in Chennai you recommend to get the servicing done or is there a direct Yamaha SVC in Chennai like Enfield (i'm new to Chennai i'm from Kerala)?

No, I don't know but Its a fun story

I put on a request to be with the mechanic during the service but the chief mechanic slightly got angry and instructed not to allow any owner in the service area. so I was forced to wait in the waiting room but I didn't give up, started to get in with out any permission (I should not do ) and I noticed that they were demonstrating how to fix the chain sprocket to other fellow mechanics... I just smiled that my bike would be a test trail for other mechanics. If I continue to do the same I may face the consequence in the quality of the service so started listening music inside the waiting room.

They took three hours to fix the sprocket.
