Now that is a neat one. I usually am in a bit of an oppose of these projectors or angel eye thingie but I like this one. I have heard that aftermarket lamps sometimes fiddle with the FI system. Is this true?

Yes, these are not chinese one's. Even i dont like the those with angel ring and hid.
one of my friend got a lot of headlight assembly which has twin projector lenses (lower beam on left and upper beam on right side) and i m using it with a 55w bulb so no overload on wiring and battery.
Below is the image of low beam (single projector on)

              • Hi all,

I have just completed the first service of my R15.
Got it serviced in Raj Yamaha near thoraipaakam chennai with a bad experiance.

I had told them to fix the front doom vibartions but this was never done,
and there is noise from the front suspension when it moves up fast,
when you ride over a big speed braker with some speed, not sure what the problem is, i guess its the rubber holding the forks tight.
The water wash done was the worst ever, they delivered the bike with black grease patches everywhere.
Is it possible to fix the doom vibrations, please let me know if DIY tutorial exists.

I am also planning of getting a HID kit for my R15 and am a noob to lighting,
i have read several posts in this forum and am still confused.
Should i go for HID bulb alone or an HID with a project kit installed which will provide more visibility.

Does the philips HID kit come with a projector too?
Should i also rewind the coil? since the initial current used to charge the HID's is quite high.

If there's any place in chennai where i can get the HID installation done in chennai please let me know .

What is the tool required to remove the rivets in the R15 and also how should it be removed ?

                Thanks for your help

                • If you are not planning to upgrade your battery, I would recommend single bixenon 35W 4300k/ 6000k HID. Tried and tested for long, no problems reported by anybody in YRC so far.

A branded one (Philips) would cost ~ 6k IIRC. You can get China made ones at around 1.8k.

Just imagine how a single projector one side and normal reflectors on the other side look from the front :P

                      • Teejay,

I still do not understand what do you mean by a single bixenon 35W 4300k/ 6000k HID.
What about the other bulb ?
Should it be a HID too or stick to stock, if it is stock will it not look odd on the high beam?
                        Am confused
am also new to this lighting stuff

                          • I'd say always when you install HID a reflector must be used for the cutout of the beam, otherwise it would blind people ahead through the mirrors and mostly people on the oncoming lane and i guess you wouldn't want to be rude, do you? So please do the decent thing and go for projectors if your going to use HID lights.

PS: It is illegal in here to use HID without projectors.
Do not click it unless you have an open mind...
