Earlier at sprint i used to get my bike within 2 hours max. work done infront of me. friendly service guys there. the max time i used to spend there was till 11.30 even after coming there at 9.30 on any day.
Everything you mentioned is apt for the rating you gave. Not expected from any SVC, you can shoot a mail to Yamaha for this to claim reimbursement on labor which was done without your consent.

Moving on to the bold part, Dude Shell oil is not meant for R15, I mean, they dont have the specific grade - 15w50 in Shell. Shell is a good company and has its best lubricants but Shell India does not sell 15w50 grade oil. Which grade did the SVC engineer put in the bike? Please get it confirmed ASAP.

      • Guys will the exhaust note change after 6k RPM?? I took it to 7k + RPM in a open stretch today and It's totally different.. There a big kind of grunt exhaust note... Am afraid... But when I take it to 7k RPM in sixth gear is different while in 2nd or 3rd gear it's different (i mean it's kinda smooth in 6th gear at 7k RPM while I feel the grunt in 2nd and 3rd gear )Is it normal?? Plz help bcz I completed Run in just now.. So am yet to know the bikes high end behaviour or should the engine get used to higher RPM's ????

got Shell Advance AX7. abhi and few others used that here. said its smooth. gave it a try. the bike seemed smooth yest when i went for the ride.

The matter was sent to the internal people in BW. Since on the same day before getting my bike we had meeting with BW owner. so things will get to him soon.

for newbees who were worried about the lines on the disc. this is how an unused new bike discs will look like. one you start riding and braking the round lines will appear.

AX7 is 100% mineral oil but the r15 uses SS grade.

AX7 is a good Engine oil,
past 3 years Ax7 seems to be my best engine oil with the price and its not mineral
its semi synthetic And yes, the dealer said ax7 is not for long rides.

now the question is how V2 behaves with ax7, Ron will explain in coming days.

My experience with ax7 is positive with "Hero H Hunk"

If I may be allowed to share my info here: AX7 is 100% SS oil and NOT Mineral. The bottle clearly mentions it. Shell ULTRA is FS instead.

AX7 on R15v2 = positive response. However, the best bet would be go for MOTUL if available. For Hunk, it (Shell AX7) works quite good. Do NOT go for a higher rated engine oil unnecessarily as it puts undue pressure on the oil seals and head gaskets and eventually results in leakages physical as well as low pressure (extreme cases).

Cant agree more on the bold part.

That's why I have mentioned clearly in my other previous posts, do not ever change the grade, buy FS,SS or mineral in the same grade if you want but don't reduce or increase the grade. R15 engine design is very different from Hunk, Pulsar, Duke or even R1 for that matter, adhering to the mentioned grade in the user manual is very important. The mentioned grade keeps the engine running smooth and out of trouble since it has qualified successfully in providing maximum lubrication properties in comparison with higher or lower grades.

@Ron- its not that this oil would harm the engine but would sincerely tell you to change it ASAP or if not then don't redline or ride at high speeds causing oil leaks near piston chamber.

EDIT - Since the SVC has put the wrong oil, you can complaint to Yamaha India and tell them about this. They would arrange a free oil change according to the prescribed grade. The SVC hasnt adhered to the users manual provided by you (Yamaha). Its their mistake so please change the oil since they perform the filling without my consent (If they have) or their mistake completely.

The initial feedback. rode almost 300kms in these last 2 days after changing to shell AX7. bike is too smooth. gear shifting too.

i had given the oil to put to my bike. they didnt put it by themselves. so i cant complain to yamaha :P since few guys have tried and are using it, even i changes. however if i sense any problems then i will change back.

Black and green one looks gud in showroom, but it attracts a lot of dust.Saw one today on Road, it looked like a old one even when its brand new. Its because the black is more shiny and dark than the old black. SO the only color i would pick is Racing blue...

                            dont worry bro
You and me are at same level as far as bike Odo meter says..
i have completed 1350km...i too tried going at 7K RPM bt only in 5th or 6 th gear...
Bike make noise which is normal behaviour.
Obviously bike makes grunt at 2 or 3 gear if u cross 7 K RPM..
May be we should not exceed 7-8 K before 2K odo.....
at 2 K i will change oil and then i can go for maximum..

yes, the bike changes its not in 3 stages. initial, mid and at high revv. people get freaked out at the high revv i enjoy doing it lol. in initial it will be grunty as the revvs will be building up, in the middle it will get smooth and seems like a rocket which increases at high rpm.

My city riding is very less ~10 kms a day. Weekend rides are all ~500 kms or more. So Full synthetic might be useful.

I saw some posts of @nastrofaction about using the FS oil.
It would be helpful if you can post some more details like which 1 are you using(300V ?) and in that case is it required to replace the engine oil every 3000kms or the gap can be more ?

Reviews from anyone else(who is using FS oil on R15) also would be highly appreciated.

Been travelling a lot these days, just returned to thread.
                                Hello, so FS on r15.
Well, Motul 300v is the champ here. Upgrading to FS does help.
Change interval is around 4-5 K considering that my SS lasts for around 2.5 K to 2.7 K.
I have checked it on a v1 of a friend and experienced good results than fellow v1's.
For v2 I haven't tried it yet as I had other major problems with the ride.
The reason I would not like to go for it is that with high rev riding style like mine. 1000+ bucks for 4000 Km doesn't seem VFM.

In other news, finally I got the stability issue resolved.
After getting every possible thing done
                                - swingarm greasing
                                - Fork overhauling
                                - Wheel bearing greasing and la la

Issue came out to be a bent racing bearing handle kit. Its the handle that holds the fork and inserts into the steering.
Cost around 3K (bearing plus under bracket component). Seems culprit was my love for offroading. r15 is just not the right motorbike for that.
I was told that it should be checked at 20K Interval and causes issues in cornering, flicker-ability. The same I was getting mad everyday.

Else got clutch and accelerator cable changed, got new sprocket for around 3K including installation charges.
Got master cylinder kit changed as my front brakes had given away.
Relay had a loose screw due to which it was not starting all the times, got that tightened.

Ride is much better now, a bit low on power and foot peg vibration is still what I am facing with no resolution found yet.
But good enough for touring now.

Picture says it all i guess. Yesterday on Hyderabad highway.
