    thats cool
though 220 doesn't have injector or any such thing but still we hear tick sound when we flip then engine kill switch from on to off, used to think it was the auto chock that makes that noise ...btw some guys say its not recommended to use kill switch all the time but couldn't get proper reason for that

I have checked it on a v1 of a friend and experienced good results than fellow v1's.
For v2 I haven't tried it yet as I had other major problems with the ride.
The reason I would not like to go for it is that with high rev riding style like mine. 1000+ bucks for 4000 Km doesn't seem VFM.

In other news, finally I got the stability issue resolved.
After getting every possible thing done
      - swingarm greasing
      - Fork overhauling
      - Wheel bearing greasing and la la

Issue came out to be a bent racing bearing handle kit. Its the handle that holds the fork and inserts into the steering.
Cost around 3K (bearing plus under bracket component). Seems culprit was my love for offroading. r15 is just not the right motorbike for that.
I was told that it should be checked at 20K Interval and causes issues in cornering, flicker-ability. The same I was getting mad everyday.

Picture says it all i guess. Yesterday on Hyderabad highway.

How often do you need to top up the oil? is the oil consumption more with motul 300v?

is there any tangible improvement in the engine performance with the 300v when ridden hard?

this "racing bearing handle kit", where exactly is it on the bike? Can you give some more details?

      BTW, Nice click!

Just wanted to know the facts as how it is very different.

R15 engine materials (Diasil) are different than others brands atleast in comparison than Bajaj or Hero. So is the functioning, I hope you know the difference between SOHC and DOHC engines. Apart from the above mentioned, R15 is an LC engine than a AC engine. Use of coolant for removing excessive heat has its own properties. Chuck the technology for a bit, ever wondered why you exhaust all gears in a hunk easily than a R15? Its a revvy engine, you get the power-band in later stages also has its own characteristics. Even on track, unless professional you would still be around 9k rpm in the last gear on the R15, taller gearing. Duke uses a claw shifter for easy gear change, Duke has different gear ratios all together.

R1 on the other hand will have same DNA but additional components would surely contribute its functioning. Components like piston size, race class injectors, cross-plane crankshaft, TC, drive modes, tuned ECU and so on. It has a cassette type gearbox which is essential during racing if witnessed with any sort of problems.

The lubrication of every engine is different, the factors deciding its grade totally depends on 2 factors

        1) Construction of engine
        2) Operational surrounding of engine

The above data provided is just the tip of the topic, i hope it gives you some knowledge about the lubrication properties of a motorcycle engine. For me, such reasons are enough to stick to the mentioned lubrication in the users manual.

@Nastrofaction - please provide costing and billing information along with parts changed.

for the bold part. I have come across people who say that the bike wont start after the kill switch is used. these guys were owners of Fz actually and had bike for more then 1 year. and kill switch is there for purpose, use it only in traffic signals for switching off for short time and not always to switch off the bike. use the traditional way to switch off the bike. Kill switch instantly kills the power to the engine through a circuit, which if used too many time may cause harm to the circuit.

since i had been for a ride on sunday, thought of testing my speed in GPS. the speedo showed 135kmph and the gps showed 130.88kmph as top speed. didnt push more.

Thanks for the details, got to know a lot with this.
Well if i understood your question right then the gears were not at all smooth as on R15,
for V2, just have to push very little and the foot feels click means gear is made.
That is what brings smile on my face. very minute force is required to change the gears.
My office mate said that this gear box is one of the finest among the Indian bikes after he took a test ride.
and about the oil, i am going to use the Yamaha lube SS until all the free service.

@Ronsyle- Ron you got Barda lubricant oil last time, you said it was smooth but that was at its intial stage as you just made 100-200km.
can you please tell, is it worth to get that for V2.

one thing i want to tell is that, take risks only if you want to and not because others did. i am talking specifically about oil changes and additives.

its Bardahl , its added to engine oil. will be about 50ml. it was smooth all over. rode for about 2.6k kms. however one guy said that his r15 engine was heating up more often then without the additive. later i found out that he was using Shell AX7 oil with the barhahl oil. The mechanic said that the Bardahl guys tested the oil with yamalube.

now coming to my experience, i didnt notice any change in the engine heating thingi. i didnt use the additive with Shell oil but now too my bike is smooth as before. i warm up my engine in the morning while leaving home for 1 min and same thing in the evening. for 150Rs its not worth though. and i suggest you not to go for it till free service is over.

Approx 650 bucks IIRC. Was surprised to notice that the rear disc pads cost more than the front!
