  • Update @ 1200 Km

Am in love with the braking on this bike. I fell a lot of time on my CBZ-X because the tires would skid, but this baby never skids or wobbles. Rock steady. Gives me confidence each time i break.
The engine sound at higher RPM is to kill for. I use to change gears at around 4-4.5k rmp because of which i use to doubt the bikes potential, now i started changing gears @6-6.5k and downshifting at around 4k, i am amazed by the power is produces at that rpm. Don`t drive anymore at lower rpms.
Kitna dete hai ? When i first filled up the tank it gave me 34-36km/lt. After that it gave me 48km/lt two times using reserve to reserve method. This time i ripped her apart last sunday, just once @ all gears and it has already given me 34km/lt and i still have 2 bars left.
No matter how hard you rev the engine it won`t start sounding weird. I know i was ripping her @8k rpm in all gears for 3-4 kms, it started sounded wierd but as soon i left it for 2-3 hours, bamm , sounds amazing again.

Pillion seat is only meant for gf`s. A guy sitting that close to me, i avoid that. My GF complaints that it is so high she feels like she is on dislpay and she feels like she is sitting in a SUV because of the height. Embrassing for her, i guess.
It takes getting a lot use to if you are in a habit of driving @ lower rpm`s. Like it did in my case.
Attention seaker, i personally don`t like that. I bought it for me and not for other people to keep stare at it or keep asking me for a ride, but that is a personal perfernce.
Am scared , the day it falls, if it falls, it is going to require a lot of money.

    That is it guys.

About the suspension noise you are telling, its normal. Your bike suspension is new and is taking its time to adapt on the tarmac. Give it sometime and it will go, dont worry. Please post some more pics of your bike.

          Hope this helps.

Yesterday my bike leave some coolant drops on the floor and its dropping from the top of the recipient and from the hose under the bike. it was overfilled with coolant do you think thats the reason?

Yes, the coolant level is a little bit high. But it doesnt matter, the excess coolant will be drained through the drain pipe and thats why you see droppings on the floor.

            • I changed my stock yellow lights to a little bluish shade. The bulb is Osram with 35w itself but now with 4300K rather than 2700k stock one. costs Rs.225 per piece.
Mine is blue, and black has stock light.

A little difference on dim, but a very good noticable difference on bright.

                    • Having this irritating experience with logo stealers. One of my tank logos, and the logo behind the rear seat have been ripped off. Patny motors in Hyderabad never seems to be having stock of the same. Any ideas/help on where I can get these fitted at Hyderabad?

That's a nice mod out there, can you please post a pic of the box, i'm actually trying to get it done too, the thing is there are two to three boxes of Osram and the dealer is also not accurate. Please post pic of the box of bulbs, I know this is the most strange requirement but I need to change those yellows, cant see a thing.

Duxx - I Want that, bloody hell, that's an awesome mudguard out there, would love to get it fixed on my R15

                          • My bike is back after 5th service, 12.4k kms.

                            Got the following done:
                            1. Engine oil and oil filter changed. Went for Yamalube SS this time, will switch back to Shell at the next service.
                            2. Spark plug changed.
                            3. Swingarm, coneset and wheel bearings greased.
                            4. Fork Oil changed.

My air filter was changed a little earlier so did not change it at this service.

Overall, very happy with the service, the bike feels much more smoother, a touch quicker and more tightly coupled.
Breakup of costs is as below: (Dont have the invoice in front of me, I am quoting to the best of what I can remember)

Guys I have finally booked my baby r1. I will be getting her on 12th nov.

What all things do I need to check while taking her from the showroom?

Can we have a summary of the recommended oil and run in method in the first post itself?
