Hey guys I got my rear disc pads replaced at 5.5k kms. Is it very early? They were pretty much done and I could hear a squeaking sound from the disc and the mechanic confirmed that the pads needs to be replaced. The front ones have about 10k life. But why did the rear wear out so soon? I never rest my feet on the brake pads and always use front largely while braking.

Have you changed your clutch cable? Wats on ur odo? I changed mine by 20k..Originally posted by PallavZ View PostClutch problems again.
whenever I at slow engine speed ie 3000-3700 for some time my clutch becomes real soft but whenever I ride at higher speeds the clutch becomes normal.!

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0 - Tire Upgrade
Okay so i've been planning to change the tires of my R15 v2.0. Bike has done about 12000 km, tires are now 2 years old. Was thinking I should change to Michelin Pilot Sporty. Except, there is a lot of discussion on this tire make on the internet. People are swearing by the quality and make of the tire and that it's the grippiest tire ever. But, everyone claims that Michelin never got tires for India, n the tires in India were imported from Thailand. Now, Michelin makes tires for India and the compound is hard, very nervous round bends and gives very bad grip on wet roads.
So, anyone knows where to get those "Thailand make" tires in India? Do people still import those? I don't want to buy on sites like snapdeal or changemytire as I dont know about their authenticity. Any other dedicated online seller who gets them would do.
Yes, the bike is 90/80-R17 and Michelin doesn't have that size here, so I am up sizing to 90/90-R17. Bigger contact patch will make the front heavy but I think it also means slightly better front end stability under heavy braking, something which I need. 130/70-R17 is made by Michelin.

I have installed Pilot Sporty 90/90 at the front on my R15.. and its pretty damn good... and yes the grip and stablity under breaking, cornering is significantly better than the stock MRF.. I mean u can feel it properly.. it is a nice, and proper upgrade to ur bike and its affordable too.mOriginally posted by hatebreeder View PostOkay so i've been planning to change the tires of my R15 v2.0. Thanks Vishwas! Where did you source your tire from? Was it recently or a long time back? Cause the Thailand make was available back in like 2012-2013. And what about the rear tire? upgraded that as well?Originally posted by vishwas.R15 View PostI have installed Pilot Sporty 90/90 at the front on my R15.. and its pretty damn good... and yes the grip and stablity under breaking, cornering is significantly better than the stock MRF.. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0 - Tire Upgrade
I live in bangalore so I found a dealer.. I made a mistake by going for the stock MRF at the back.. Now I am seriously thinking of changing it.. I bought it 3 months ago.. Although I have to say my tyres lasted till I hit 20 K.. cuz I always rode on good roads. And one suggestion.. the miche is prone to punctures..Originally posted by hatebreeder View PostThanks Vishwas! Where did you source your tire from? Was it recently or a long time back? Do you have any details on the part code or anything? I'll try to look around here for the same make.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
When i measured my handlebars from the tank, my left handlebar is closer to the tank than the right one by a small amount, and i noticed recently that pain on the left palm comes quicker than the right one, and the left handlebar is little higher(?)
Will provide pic soon!
When i went to svc to check this out he told me that the steering rod(?) is bent & says that its not of a major worry if your bike is stable and that he would check it out on upcoming service(paid)
Any views? Any help will be much appreciated!

I'm 6ft3 and after long rides I started getting lower back aches. Change the steering rod. Ask SVC guys to show you the damage. See if there is some twist on the rod. It could just be a misalignment. Did you drop the bike?Originally posted by Dixant Thakore View PostWhen i measured my handlebars from the tank, my left handlebar is closer to the tank than the right one by a small amount, and i noticed recently that pain on the left palm comes quicker than the right one, and the left handlebar is little higher(?)

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Hello guys,
I recently had my Bike serviced at the SVC. Before the service, my bike would turn completely perfect. Now, it pulls to one side. This morning when I showed the incharge the bike, he said that the "bearing" has to be replaced. Quoted ₹3800 for the bearing, and total of ₹4200 including labour. I'm just surprised as to how the bearing got damaged only after the service. I had told a mechanic to ride the bike because there was spark plug cap trouble and he had to warm the engine.
Bike has completed 12k on the odo. And exactly 2 years this September.
Does the bearing need to be replaced every 12k Kms? Can it be ok after lubrication. It's very difficult to ride like this.
Most importantly, CAN THIS OCCUR DUE TO OVER-TIGHTENING OF THE BEARING BY THE MECHANIC?
Thank you.
