Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Hey guys while riding my bike today suddenly my clutch went a bit soft and the engine lost its engine braking effect by a lot. The is no significant Change in performance or anything except the lost in engine braking effect and a softer clutch. And yes I do downshift with rev matching every time and i do per load the shifter before shifting up but i do use the clutch. Should I be worried or is it normal.!.?

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
when my bike's front tyre pressure is below 30psi or so, when turning the bike/handlebar (either actual turns or just swerves) at slow speeds (less than 30 or 40 kmph), it feels like the front is about to fold...in other words, it feels there is a good tendency to turn further on its own than it is supposed to...of course it doesn't actually do that (or i'd be crashing or nearly crashing all the time), but certainly an increased tendency to over-turn on its own is felt...and this weird tendency gradually increases with further reduced front pressure, which is somewhat understandable at very low tyre pressure but it's happening even at normal tyre pressure range...what could be the reason(s) ?
just 3000 kms ago i had installed new conesets and ball racers in my bike. could it be that they were not fitted/adjusted properly enough ? i suspect it might not be that easy because this weird tendency of the front vanishes if front tyre pressure is around or over 32-35psi..i suspect something to do with the front fork maybe.

Daytona works better AFAIK.Originally posted by Abhi599 View PostI'm planning to upgrade my exhaust system. I have zeroed in on the leovince cobra exhaust. The online price is about 10000rs I want to know the price for it in the local market.

Many friends of mine have R15 and have installed both daytona and LV cobra.
I have ridden both and found the daytona to perform better and sound better also.
Do have a look at daytona too.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Hey guys,
My bike has done 20k kms and the front tyre has almost worn out.
It started wobbling above 70kph at around 14-15k kms(right air pressure).
So, looking for a replacement other than the stock one. Liked the Michelin street but the smallest size available is 110/80-17.
What are my options in stock size and also in 100/80?
Can I fit the v1 tyre? Will it reduce the possible lean angle?
Thanks.
I guess your front tyre has reached end of its life. 15k or more?Originally posted by aditya_YZF-R15 View Postwhen my bike's front tyre pressure is below 30psi or so, when turning the
At 20k I'm also facing the issues you mentioned, so probably its the tyre.

Mate, its personal preference but in all practicality, i would recommend you to go for the stock mrf.Originally posted by christo View PostHey guys,

nothing even comes close to those, I have done proper knee down on those bad boys without a hitch.
The wobbling you mention is not because of the tyre i am sure. Mine have done 19000 + and still going strong. I dont see them going anywhere for another 5-7000 kms.
The wobbling could be because of suspension bend or cone set or the T hub itself. mis alignment of the alloy etc
Try and get the wobbling issue resolved first. and if you really want to enjoy this bike to its fullest potential, please
consider sticking with the stock.
aditya_YZF-R15 : please have the cone set checked for proper greasing and fitment. Do a DIY to set the proper play of the steering. Most often than not its simply a case of over tightened or too loose play.Last edited by mehuel; 08-01-2015, 04:09 PM.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Thanks but in my case im pretty sure the wobble isnt because of any mis alignments or bend suspension. wobble and replacing the tyre solved it.
Ill replace the tyre and will let you know the result.

could be, but it seems very unlikely in my case..only 12.5k kms, and the condition of the tyre appears pretty good still...Originally posted by christo View PostI guess your front tyre has reached end of its life. 15k or more?

if it were the tyre, then that anomalous over-turning tendency should have probably been there at higher tyre pressures too, but such is not the case..anyways, will keep this in mind as one of the possible reasons when i go to the svc next week..

they are well greased, but yes i suspect incorrect fitting of the conesets as well...but the fact that it's so dependent on the tyre pressure range is a bit puzzling, and i am thus suspecting something wrong with the forks maybe besides the conesets...either fork oil needs to be replenished (although shock absorption has not deteriorated) or it also has some misfitting issues (perhaps due to which it's loading up a bit abnormally when the pressure is below a certain number (~35psi in my case)) ever since the whole front assembly was opened up 3000 kms ago when new conesets and ball racers were installed...Originally posted by mehuel View Postplease have the cone set checked for proper greasing and fitment. sometimes even moderately hard braking to standstill (or almost) also gives a somewhat nervous not-so-stable feeling from the front just as the bike is starting to approach speeds of below 10-15 kmph while on its way to stopping..this also makes me suspect the forks in addition to conesets.Last edited by aditya_YZF-R15; 08-01-2015, 09:06 PM.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
There are somethings you can do to check. If you have a main service stand just park the bike on it and check for steering. let the bike rest on rear tyre so the front tyre is in the air and free to move. hold the forks with straight handle pointing ahead and move the forks to and fro, and check the play. it should not move. if it does, there is too much play. than move handle right to left and check ease of motion. if its to stiff the steering is too tight. I suspect it to be too tight.Originally posted by aditya_YZF-R15 View Postcould be, but it seems very unlikely in my case..only 12.5k kms, and the condition of the tyre appears pretty good still...

You can also align the suspension. Did you bike all in the recent times? While riding do you feel the handle bar tilted toward one direction.
and when did you have the suspension oil changed.
another thing you can check is the disk plate, if the problem is caused only while braking.
