The thing is that the stock revz s are discontinued and they are very prone to punctures. My budget is 7K for both front and rear. My sprocket is also gone so have to get that changed too.
Can you suggest me any tyres which I should look out for.
    Thank you!

check out the NV series. I think they have tyres for the R15. but front tyre wont be available in 90/80. I think they have a 110/70. Check it out.

7k is more than sufficient for a decent set. You'll have to factor in the variable conditions of your usage. What is your primary purpose? Track riding? Touring? Commuting?

Michelin Pilot Street serves as a good all rounder and provides exceptional grip as well.

Pirelli Sport Demon is the best in business when it come down to grip, only drawback - wears out fast and costs more.

MRF Nylogrip Zapper - S. This is the one used on the RS 200 and is almost similar to the MRF Revz - S, though I'm not sure whether this model has hit the market since the RS was recently launched.

You'll have to visit your local dealers and check if they stock them.

Michellin Street Radial is for around 6K for rear so that just makes me drop that one as my overall budget is 7K.
My dad is using Pirelli and their life is really less and out of my budget too.
I might get the MRF NV or Zapper as suggested by Siddharth, geekboy and hatebreeder.
            Will keep you guys posted.
Thanks a lot for the help.

Anyone using shell advance ultra? What is the drain interval?

I'm using it on my zmr. Crossed 3.5k and it still hasn't lost it yet. Probably it'll hold up for some 800-900 kms..

I want to know how it fares against the Motul 7100 or 300v 15w50. I've been planning to change the oil to shell, but never get the time to go downtown and purchase a can. Have you tried them both by any chance?

I've tried the 7100. When you compare it with shell ultra the 7100 is slightly better. I felt the engine running cooler, with almost no vibes. I havent tried 300v but most r15 riders use it here, so you can use that eyes closed. Which engine oil are you using now?

I was running 7100, switched back to Yamalube SS 15w50 just for the heck of it. There wasn't any noticeable difference besides the change intervals as the bike engine is super smooth. I'm planning to switch back to fully synthetic mainly because of the drain intervals being further apart, thus being cheaper on the pocket. Never tried shell before but I've heard many positive reviews.[emoji106] [emoji2]

Don't keep switching back and forth. Find out which oil suits the best for your bike and use that. I suggest you go back to using 7100 15w50 or 300v of the same grade.

I am using 300v now, it seems to get consumed too soon compared to yamalube.. Wanted to know if shell was any better..

Frankly, the 300V is an overkill for this bike and waste of money. I understand the urge to use best oil for your bike, but to tell you frankly it just does not make any difference (for this bike) in terms of performance to use it instead of 7100 which does a equally good job at almost 40% less cost. The engine is just not stressed out enough to need an oil like 300V. Just using 7100 and changing oil and filter on regular basis as recommended by Yamaha will be more than sufficient to take care of engine and keep it in pristine condition.

But then if you have more money in the bank than you know what to do with, then yes, do go ahead with 300V, its arguably the best oil money can buy off the shelf.

I've been using 300V since the past two services. There's a marked difference b/w 300V and the Yamalube in terms of riding experience and i haven't found any mention of this so far. The engine is a lot more vibey with the 300v. The vibes start from as low as 6k RPM. Even the sound is different - the engine sounds dry, mechanical when revved. Though past 9k RPM it actually feels like its running smoother. I bought it because i thought it would be better for the engine in the long run and i don't mind the extra cost. I have been debating whether to continue using it, but now i think i am better off using Yamalube and changing at shorter intervals (2-2.2k km is where its at for me)

I have had similar experiences.. But the rough nature starts after about 2000 kms.. I was wondering if that is due to low oil level and topping up oil every 1000kms by about 50-100ml will solve it..
