  • Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0

Hello guys! Just a small clarification. Does the r15 v2 have a 26 pin ECU or a 33 pin one? Also the v1 used a 26 pin ECU right? Thanks In advance. :-)

Guys!! I need a help. If anyone is going to Yamaha service center could you guys just ask what is the price of MRF Zapper FY1(90/80-17 front) tire.
Outside in MRF showroom they are quoting 2000/- rs. I wanted to know if its the right price or are they bloating?

        • R15 V2.0 Stalling

I am having some trouble with my 3 years old Yamaha YZF R15 V2.0. I have also taken my bike to the local Yamaha Dealership/Service Center. However, they could not pinpoint the problem. Therefore, I am seeking for some opinion/insight from your end. Below goes the symptoms I face with my bike:

          a. Bike stalls while accelerating, pulling in the clutch..no matter if i downshift at the same time or not.
          b. This happens mostly in case of high speed runs, if i pull in the clutch and release the throttle totally, the RPM drops from say,7000 RPM to 1.5K for a sec and then drops to zero, stalling the engine.
          c. After the engine has stalled, if I release the clutch while the bike is still rolling, the engine fires up again with a slight jerk.
          d. While slowing down, if i keep the throttle a bit open and pull-in the clutch, the engine keeps running.
          e. In neutral the bike idles fine at around 1300-1600 RPM
f.This problem mainly occurs during the first 10-15 minutes of riding. After that it somehow disappears or occurs much less frequently.

Could you please point-out some factors that might cause this trouble, which will help me to solve this through the help of the mechnics.
          urgent feedback needed....please \m/

I'm no expert but I think it have something to do with the spark plug, may be a faulty fuel injection.

Also check airfilter for dust accumulation.... Even I had the same issue sometime back. And at last found it to be fuel injector block and clogged airfilter.

                    Hey guys how are you
so lately I have this problem in my r15
its like the bike doesn't accelerate fast enough
its like you don't get that jerk when u rev hard
tried using other r15 and they are much faster compared to mine
so what might the problem be?
i already changed the air filter last week but that didn't fix the problem

Was the air filter a genuine one?? Also check the condition of the spark plug.

I had the exact same problem, it's most probably an issue with Tappet Adjustment. make sure the valve clearance is in place properly. it's a very delicate task, make sure the mechanic uses a filler gauge and knows what he is doing. the measurements for the inlet and exhaust valves are given in the manual.

                          Yea it's a genuine one
Will spark plug really have a noticible change in the performance of the bike?
and if it does how much does it cost

well you are supposed to change spark plugs every 10-12k km.. they cost only about 100-150 for stock ones

You cant actually feel the difference but you will get better fuel efficiency. You say acceleration isn't quick. Now I'm just guessing here but maybe you should check the chain slack and if all else fails maybe your clutch is going.
