Looks like short circuit to me... Or the Charging coil gone katput. Have you done any changes to electricals like lights?? I would advice disconnecting the battery right now and take it to SVC.. Ask them to check voltage at battery terminals( After fitting ) when you rev the bike to make sure charging coils are working..

Huge thanks for the reply mate
will get it checked tomorrow first thing in the morning
i think the battery got drained out cause I was stuck in heavy traffic and was to hot and my radiator fan was running non stop and could feel a lot of heat on my legs, need to get the coolant replaced I guess
and nope never did change any lighting or electrical stuff nor a mod

air box was having excess oil in it, the pipe connected to it also had few drops of oil.
So I thought the valve guides are leaking oil and thats why the drop in oil level but today, after waeming up, revvd the engine slowly to redline and there was light amount of smoke coming through the exhaust.
If the valves are leaking oil, will there be smoke? Or is it my block thats busted?

Btw bike is only 18k kms old, first oil change was @500kms athen again @1000kms did first service from svc. Always replaced oil at 3k kms.

mate, trust me when i say this, i have been using Motul for almost 5 years now on different bikes, on new bikes, on overhauled bikes(after partial and complete engine rebuilds) and one thing i can say with confidence is that (Motul) oil level does recede/ evaporate if the bike is ridden hard. i have this habit of checking oil level every 500 to 700 kms and found atleast 50 - 100 ml is required to top up and this is on new bikes(R15 included).

few months back i experimented a litlle and i didnot check or top up the oil level after chainging oil for almost 1000 kms, after which i drained oil just for the sake of checking how much has evaporated, the bike was ridden hard during those 1000km and as expected after draining i pourded it back in the empty motul container and it was only upto 700-720 ml approx.

so it is my belief that your valves might be ok, and it just the tendency of motul to evaporte. topping up is necessary.

dont get the engine opened and get advice from some good mech.

Other members please share your experience.

P.S: i have no complains about Motul, and this evaporating issue isnt much of a complain either, its just an obsevation. And i'll still stick to Motul as long as they are making such quality product.

Did you turn off the engine while the fan in running ?? Even though the battery wont drain fully. And fan running in traffic is normal. Thats how bike runs. And many people so this mistake of turning off the engine in traffic. Its not advisable for liquid cooled engines since coolant pump rotates with the help of engine. If you turn it off, coolant wont circulate and no use of fan running because it cools only the coolant in the radiator. The coolant struck inside the engine is still boiling hot..

Yes my friend it will kill your warranty even if you have taken extended warranty .
You can contact Pawan in delhi scooters he will clarify it to you.
P.s. It's not easy to kill r15's engine n you won't be able to kill it so quickly

Nah, i left the bike turned on
it was like 20 minutes stuck in traffic and enormous amount of heat
tried to turn the bike on last night and it did turn on
so it's just a drained out battery
but this time the engine warning light started blinking

• R15 V2 Tyre Change.

Hi Guys,

I have a R15 V2 which has been ridden for 15K KMS. The tyres are worn out and have faced many punctures and I am suggested to change the tyres by my mechanic.
I have read many post over here and at other places and the tyres which come as stock are probably discontinued and are prone to puncture.
My riding is based in city only and hardly any highway riding.
I was wondering if I can put the MRF Revz C1 and FC1.
Would there be any downside of upsizing the tyres ?
Please help.

Thanks.

Asad.

Get a can of WD40.
Spray some inside the keyhole and let it soak for 5-10 mins.
Then put your key in and keep nudging it but make sure you don't apply excess force or you'll bend your key and damage the mechanism.
Repeat till it pops open.

And No, chain lube wont work. WD40 is your best bet.
NOTE: Make sure you push down on the seat with your hand when turning the key. After its open, spray some on the internal cable and mechanism too.

Thanks guys for helping out.

Well, my previous bike(fazer) had the same problem and when we inspected the engine, bore had scratch marks and needed replacement.

But on fazer, the engine oil had a burnt smell and the oil used to get really black.
Not so with R15, engine oil doesnt smell burnt also the color was red(Motul 7100).
So im hoping the engine is to be fine, ill do a compression test first, before opening up the engine.
Guys, many of you change oil from svc, but keep checking the oil level every 1000 kms to be safe.

Will report after the compression test :beer:

Hey Christo,
The white smoke isn't an issue. Its just the new oil burning in, when old burnt old is replaced with fresh oil, you will usually notice white exhaust fumes for the first few kilometers until the oil completes 2-3 cycles of heating to a boil and cooling down. This is completely normal but make sure the smoke isn't dense, otherwise you have a problem.

Anything besides the stock size will definitely have an impact on performance. In my opinion, you should stick to the stock size and model by mrf if you're tight on budget. Otherwise, Bridgestone and Pirelli have some amazing products as well, just don't upsize or downsize unless you are completely aware of the after effects on your bike in the long run.

Keep us posted when you finalise.[emoji2]

The oil in the air box must be due to (excessive?) blow-by from the engine. Do you often rev the bike at high RPM (9k +)?
A compression test can tell if the engine is sealed properly.
I check the oil level every week or two (300-500 km) and around 800-1200 km it requires a top-up. If the oil level drops too low it's bound to cause engine damage or seizure.
