As your budget is ~3K. I guess LS2 would be the best option. You can check in AH-Helmets in Andheri. Although he would ask a bit more price, but refer xBhp, you would get a lil discount
More over you can ask this question also in Universal Gear thread but importantly in offline G2G (Mumbai) thread...you are bound to get more answers

        • Hello Xbhpians,
          I have yamaha r15 v2.0 purchased before 3 months..
and i have now 2nd servicing on 11nov
i had changed Engine oil for First servicing, and the meter reading at that time was 250 km. and now it is 750 km...

so should i change my bike engine oil??? and also chain seems to be some dirty??? should i lube it, as they cost too much for lubing, so i'm not thinking of that.??
and recently, my bikes gear shifter tighting bolt(screw, which is under engine side, u can see it) it dropped or (i dont know someone removed purposely from it) to somewhere??
and yamaha factory shop of wakadewadi, pune was unable to fix that problem... and also they destroyed the inner threads of gear tighting screw...??? wat should i do?? should i heat on them???
PLZ reply as soon as possible..

Its not a necessity to change the oil for second servicing, it way too early for the oil to loose its composure. You can change it at around 2200-2500 kms. But I guess you are not running the bike more often. Chain cleaning is DIY(Do It Yourself) and should be satisfactory and cheaper.

As for the gear shifter tightening bolt, it was not your mistake. You can always bash them for damaging your bike. Ask for a replacement of that assembly if its broken and they are the reason for it. Try a new SVC mate if they are not doing the service according to your acceptance levels.

              • Guys, I'm sharing another experience I had with my baby R. My bike has done around 13,200 KM. Yesterday, while I was riding through the city, when trying to shift between the gears, I heard a snap sound when I depressed the clutch lever. Now the lever was working only half way through, and I could feel a sudden drop in power. Luckily, the cable didn't break. I rode the bike to the SVC and told this, and they said the clutch cable had become loose, and only tightening was needed. They adjusted it, and I rode back home. After reaching home, while I was ready to go out for another ride, I depressed the clutch lever again, and to my surprise, the clutch cable broke. I was like, "Damn! How the hell will I take my bike to the SVC now?"

I searched the net about replacing the clutch cable, and went through various DIY articles. Today, I went to the SVC and bought a clutch cable, and replaced it myself. It's a very simple task, and will only take around 15 - 30 minutes.

If you hear a snap sound from your clutch cable while riding, then it is an indication that you should replace it immediately, and consider yourself lucky that it didn't break. The SVC guys might just make some minor tightening adjustment, but you should insist to replace the cable then and there, because even after adjustment of the snapped cable, you may be able to ride only a few KM until you have your clutch cable broken. If it gets broken in the middle of the road, then you're screwed, unless you have a spare cable with you.

Does it require any special tool?? or the tools supplied in the bike's tool box is Sufficient??

For our bike, we don't need anything more than the ones provided in our tool kit And it's a very very easy job. To remove the old cable, just detach the two ends, one end being at the lever, and the other end at the clutch mechanism at the lower left side. As for replacing it with a new one, just attach the two ends of the cable at the respective positions, and then adjust the free play (10 - 15mm) by means of the adjuster provided by the side of the clutch lever, which you can see by pulling back the protective rubber cover

                    • Could anyone suggest a good Service Station in South Delhi. I need to get my bike serviced ASAP.

The gears have become very harsh to change and the bike give a jerk when I twist accelerator after changing gears. The jerk is also there when I take accelerator after coasting.

What could be the problem? Please help as I find it very annoying.

                        • Hey guys! Been a while since I last showed up here.

See a lot of new faces. Congrats to the new owners.

The tank-pad is available at INR472/-. If any showroom is charging anything above this, you guys need to give Yamaha Motors India a call.

The concept vixion kinna looks sissy. No fanboyism here but it doesn't come even in Version2.0's zipcode here.

Yes, the Milan Auto Expo is predicted to showcase the Yammy 250. Worse, it'll be the R-series, they say. Man, I'm juz not ready for it. I mean, I'm not done enjoying my Aura yet, how could I even possibly think about anything else.

Teejay, Ron, Raneet, Akshat, Ivin: How you guys man... Been long!

                          • I am getting restless day by day My bike will be in my hands on 12th nov, but this week will be too long.

Does our bike have a traction control? and is the acceleration really like a bullet post 5k rpm?

Mumbai guys, is it ok if a rider brings my bike from their godown to showroom (23kms) ? or should I go and pick it up from bhiwandi?

Traction control? who told you that? and i dont know what you are expecting when you say 'Bullet', but the bike starts its true nature form 4K rpm all the way til 9k rpm. Test ride it first before you build up your own imaginations.

Bullet aka goli dude I mean fast. I have taken a ride on v2, but as it was in run-in I couldnt rip it.

And speaking about a test ride, then here in Mumbai I didnt get any showroom giving test rides of r15
