No need to worry my friend, that happens some times. apply grease on disk.LOL"plz never do that".
Clean the disk with wet cloth, or if it does not go with that.
wait for few happy Kms, will vanish automatically.

My bike is up for 7th servicing(ODO 18K) in next week. It feels a bit harsh now. That's why thinking of changing.
My city riding is very less ~10 kms a day. Weekend rides are all ~500 kms or more. So Full synthetic might be useful.

I saw some posts of @nastrofaction about using the FS oil.
It would be helpful if you can post some more details like which 1 are you using(300V ?) and in that case is it required to replace the engine oil every 3000kms or the gap can be more ?

Reviews from anyone else(who is using FS oil on R15) also would be highly appreciated.
Try This - MOTUL 15W50 (Fully Synthetic) !

Actually, you don't get "comfort" while riding @ 50 kmph on R15.

Very True- "Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous. It is, however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity."

I like- "Bikes are not supposed to be a rational decision. If you can park it and walk away without looking back to admire it, you got the wrong one."

Shell does not manufacture oil in the grade - 15W50. Period!

Closest you can get is either 10W40 or 20W50 which are both not preferred for R15.

The one you are talking is Shell Ultra which is 10W40 costing Rs 850 in Warje Shell Outlet, Pune. Again, the grade is different and not specified for R15 use. I know Shell is one of the leading brands and better than others but it does not manufacture the grade required for R15, so we cannot use Shell in our or rather my bike atleast, others I do not know who would use it.

Yes FS has a life span around 8-9,000 kms provided you top up as required quantity of same grade oil around 5,000 kms, (general limit and check should be done at this time)

Please check 4-stroke engine oils - India

The above mentioned link carries all the information you need about Shell oils available in India for motorcycles.

Try This - MOTUL 15W50 (Fully Synthetic) !
                      Switching To This !
Yes, that is a good oil, the FS 15W50 300V is good but costly and requires top up as mentioned above, you need to buy two packs costing around Rs1650- Rs1800 which is quite high for maintenance.

Yep, you are right about the highlighted part, Since they do not have the required grade they do sales talk.

                      My suggestion would be

                      1) If you have the cash then go for Motul 300V FS, 2 cans and do the calculation everytime.
                      2) If dont have the cash, stick to SS Motul 15W50 and replace it after 3,000kms completely.

Both the above mentioned lubricants are same but the 300V is better since you are paying the added amount which has its own benefits (preferred for track use mostly).

EDIT- @ Siddharthsure - Please check the cleaning post in my signature, you are spraying a lot of lube on the chain which results in dripping on the wheel and further skidding. please wipe of the excess and do not spray more than required.

                      • I've been following this thread for a month, reading from the start. Iam using Motul 300v 15w-50 for past 400kms in my V2. The bike felt rough for the first 200kms after that it feels smooth. Gear shifts feels a bit smooth compared to yamalube ss. I usually changed YL SS at 2k-2.5k kms. Now most of my riding is in city. I've used mobil 1 fs in my V1 it didn't lasted more than 2k kms. Maybe its because it was a 40grade oil.

Apply pressure wash on the diskpads and caliper unit. Should do the job, if not then check the width of disk pad, see if its due replacement.

Bro should I remove anything to check the width??? I saw the manual and it's not very clear.. Btw mine has done just 1150 on ODO.. I don't think it needs replacement

Your call bro, I dont wish to know the width for which you will have to remove something, how come its given in a biking manual than a human anatomy book. Oh So you have used it 1150 times and have a odo for it too, Naiceee. How can you replace it? Ouch.

Sorry for that post, just having some time off at work.

No dude, the disk pad level will be seen on top of the caliper unit window, that steel plate. Or else take it to the SVC, they will pressure wash or diagnose the problem, no need to remove the wheel.
