Since you are telling that you hear the khat sound from rear when a pillion is trying to sit, I too have heard that sound when a pillion is trying to sit. Then after a few days came to know that the pillion while sitting puts weight on the tail fairing which gives the sound. Tell the pillion to sit properly and see that still you hear the sound.

The suspension in R15 is a nitrox and hence you are hearing the sound. There is nothing unusual. I don't have any idea about the sound coming from the back side. Better Check with a nearest SVC for solution.

The sound which you are telling is different from the sound which i heard. And this chuck sound only comes on some uneven roads. And i have heard khat also from the front when i accidentally went fast over a speed breaker.

Its not impossible. Someone has done it too. But that was not on the frame I guess, the frame sliders were on the clutch covering or something, I dont remember exactly, and he is not from India. And no, I dont have pics. What is your purpose ? Frame sliders usually costs a bomb and R15 doesnt really need one when you can change the kits many times for the price of a single purchase of frame sliders !

Small question for the experienced lot in this thread

I have been using 2 X 35W projectors in my bike. Love the illumination. Carving for more.
                Now the dilemma starts.

Should I go for a quad setup with 25w Bulbs or dual setup with 55w

                2 X 55 = 110W, whereas 4 X 25 = 100W

I may sound hysterical but I need it for my touring setup. My babe finishes her second anniversary in Oct

I am still using the stock battery no draining issues so far and battery is still good. Planning for a 5amp battery

BTW I have upgraded my air filter to K&N, Exhaust to Leo Vince GP Corsa Carbon and ECU to Powertronic RS.

My babe has a lot of low and mid range grunt and I never have to shift down unless I am under 2.5k rpm on the 6th gear. Thats the low end I got after installing these upgrades.

And as for the Fe it is giving me a steady output of 45 kmpl in city and crosses the 50 mark in highways. During my recent ride I checked this.

And i have uploaded my babes pic in the previous post

I am planning to get by baby Joeled also. Just waiting for the monsoons to complete so that I can take her to Bangalore.

Keep pouring your inputs guys. Badly need them.

                Anyways thanks in advance

R15 stock is 35w + 35w. That doesnt mean its 70W total output. It means 35w on the left and 35w on the right. People upgrade to 55w for much better lighting. If you fit four 25w, the scenario will be worse than stock.

Dont go for desi made frame sliders, On a single slide itself, the frame along with frame sliders might get affected. R15 kits are not that pricey afterall unless you are dropping it once a week.

Its your choice. I dont think any company are making frame sliders for R15. If you wish to have one, make sure, it wont hurt the frame. Changing kit is always better than changing frame.

where did you get the leo vince and powertronic from and how much did they cost ? i never saw (in the website of) any aftermarket accessories store in india selling leo vince for the R15..two brothers, kaulson, race concepts, GPR and the daytona kit are the only ones i thought existed for the R15.

also how much did the frame slider cost and where did you get it from and which brand's is it ? i have been asking a lot of places in the internet if they made frame sliders for the R15 with no positive answers from anyone and last few posts are the first time i am seeing frame sliders attached to the R15s..not sure if i will really get a pair myself, at least not now, but would be good to know for general info for future reference.

sexy graphics man. love that yamaha racing and yamaha dunlop part..being in a city like allahabad, i can only imagine doing shit like this on my racing blue..and i am just talking about graphic mods, forget technical mods..

anyway, same question to you - which company's frame sliders are those and where did you get them at what cost ?

i am kinda surprised reading this..i always read everywhere how the R15's (authentic) parts are not so easy to find and are usually a good deal pricey and so on.

but then, i've also wondered how come no company has made frame and fork protectors for the R15, even though they have made the same for the ninja 250r and cbr250r (maybe even cbr150r?). maybe the reason for that is what you are saying - R15's official kits are a lot less pricey than a single pair of frame sliders made for the bike, hence no accessories company has bothered making them for this bike. makes sense.

                        Comment

                        • R15 parts are what???

The kit is cheap, says who?

One side-fairing, the belly pan,the headcowl alone cost ₹6784/-. Which means the parts drill a huge hole everytime you fall. (And this doesn't even include the handlebar, the fender and the flash light which invariably also get damaged during a spill).

There's a correction that needs to be done here.
No US/UK based company manufactures sliders for the R15 while one local Indian and several Indonesian companies already do. And that's because R15 is sold only in Southeast Asia (including Japan) not there. Now this ofcourse isn't the case with CBRs and Ninjas which are beginner bikes elsewhere. And even then their sliders cost a bomb (₹4500/pair) only in India and that's cuz they're imported.

Those looking for sliders on the one-five, I'd strongly advised not to. The sliders regardless of where you get it from, will do more harm than good.

Pic 1 (Yamaha Blue) : The slides are fixed to the frame via the lower vent. Which means the mesh was removed, now that leads to engine over heating. Alot of over heating.

Pic2 ('12 LE White) : The fairing is cut. Enough said.

Its been raining for quite a while now. Sweet love Aura stays in the garage untill the skies are clear.

I live too close to a sea and a river as well as several hundred textile mills releasing hazardous smoke. All of this gets mixed with the rain water and given the high humidity prove a fatal combination for any rust-able metal.
As a precautionary measure I don't wash my bike. It gets a shower only at the SVC with corporation water.

What is the case if we go for high beam. Then it is 35+35=70. Correct me if I am wrong.

ECU is good. There are many reviews on it. Performance vise it is good. I have increased torque in lower gears, I go to top end quickly. And there is less shifting of gears in heavy traffic. And overall I got a good bump in my FE.

Thats one very heavy fork brace... any particular reason for using the same? Since its not a mono block and has so many joints, wonder how well it works?
