Sexy sexy sexy....... Especially the place and that rain splash and Obvi your LE
TIP FOR NEWBIES:
Found this after such a long time.o...
If you get vibes or feel the ride and gear shift harsh, first change engine oil if it's too old... If that didn't fix the problem, it's your chain.. Adjust the slack, clean and lube... The ride will be perfectly smooth

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Firstly, wonder why did you go for 2 servicings so soon!!!!! was it required???Originally posted by anishbora View PostHi guys, I completed my 2nd service today. But odo reads only around 550 kms. 1st service was at around 250 kms. The guys at the service centre said that it was not necessary to change the engine oil. But as i'm still in the run-in period, i insisted in changing. Bike has become very smooth now. I have one question. In the manual, it is given that after completing 500 kms, the bike can be revved above 5000 RPM, but limiting it to 7500 RPM. So can i take her above 5000 RPM? Or should i wait for some time more??
Thanks in advance!
Most important is follow the manual properly. It clearly gives you all basic info.
As you have completed your 1st 500kms, now as per manual you should limit your rev limit upto 7500. just try not to have sudden speed bursts even though you can maintain good speeds just keep check on your rev limit.
also try to keep gear shifts above 4000. It help you in good control and smooth ride.

Yes it was on.Originally posted by Ron Syl View PostWas the engine kill switch off when u turned on the key?
today morning it gave display on indicator and it also performed self check.
But its cell start was not working so told my friend to push the bike and i started it.
Took the bike to SVC for batter check. in case it is drained they will recharge it.
what could be the reason?

thanks bro..Originally posted by xDa_nightfury View Posttrust the manual.
It was not required, as i have hardly covered around 300 kms, after the first service. But the manual says, 100 days or 3000 kms. Had i skipped it, the warranty would have been void.Originally posted by saquib3005 View PostFirstly, wonder why did you go for 2 servicings so soon!!!!! was it required???

Yes, Tribocor is recommended for all O ring chains. It specially suits monsoons since it is a little more sticky compared to something like Motul and would consequently last a little longer..Originally posted by Rohit Bhosle View PostGuys!!! need help urgently.....any reviews for the Tribocor chain lube??? i bought it from EBAY.....is it advisable for R15....need suggestions....thanx in advance...

Could this be an issue of the battery? time to change? if yes any recommend brands or type of battery for it? thanks

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
finally picked up my special motogp edition racing blue today
just a quickie - in low gears even at around rpm of 4k or 4.5k (no didnt cross 5k rpm and not gonna do that for the first 500kms), the sound was quite harsh and stiff as in how a vehicle makes when almost nearing the red line or just after crossing it. so i just want to ensure from you people if this is because the machine is totally new and with just 40kms odo reading is in the run-in period of run-in period so to speak. i am really assuming and hoping that is so, until someone here says me otherwise. i dont know any R15 owner in my real life, so please ensure me if i am right or if not then what might be the issue (in which case i am rushing to the SVC first thing tomorrow).
smoothest and solidest and awesomest ride btw. rode in all kinds of conditions in just a matter of 1.5 hrs: in the dry, in drenching rain as well as in slippery and damp but not properly/fully wet conditions, which of course is the most annoying and insecure (and i was being extra scared as shit and so extra careful being a newbie rider on a bike that's new to me). on top of that had fairly strong and fluctuating transverse winds as well. so stable didnt even feel how strong the wind was at me riding 50-60kmph until i slowed down around and below 30kmph. this is the real shit.Last edited by aditya_YZF-R15; 07-10-2013, 11:09 PM.

aditya Congrats on your new ride , R15 is best lookin and a performer in its class , make sure you do run in period carefully , avoid fast sprints and over-revving , allow 2min to idle bike in morning , keep varyin rpm and dont stick to same speed for longer duration . No sudden accel and braking (unless its a life threatening situation) . Engine is bit tight and not so smooth during initial period as every component is new and requires bedding, therefore we call it run in so that it completely sets and engine gets smoother , mine extreme was so rough that i couldnt go above 40kmph or it would make lot of noise , but at 6k now it is smooth as butter and revs more easily , have patience and follow manual . Cheers

thank god then, the harshness at 4-5k rpms in lower gears is indeed due to the engine being too new and nothing else, as i was suspecting and hoping..
yep man, i am going to follow the run-in rules as ideally as possible..had to brake a bit suddenly today though, once. but from only a speed of about 25-30 or so.
yeah you reminded me another question - when people say not to maintain a same rpm or speed for longer duration, roughly how long a time one refers to ? today i did keep the same rpm and speed for a few minutes a few times...either because of traffic at some places or because it was raining and the road was very damp at some other instances of time...i didnt keep the same speed and rpm for too long though, maybe for 2-3 minutes at most at a time.
btw you from bhilai ? me as well. thats my hometown
