Keep it down to 55w and the engine up in the rev range and you'll have no problem.
I use stock. People here have also considered Philips.

I clocked 146 kmph as per my speedo.. so even if I keep 4-5 kmph speedo error with buffering I can say that I touched 140 kmph...

Speedo error is always calculated in terms of percentage and not in terms of actual kmph. So what does that mean? Let us assume that your bike has a 10% speedo error in it. So when you are riding at an indicated speed of 60 kmph the actual speed of the bike would be 54 (10% of 60kmph = 6kmph).

Now, when you are doing an indicated speed of 140 kmph, what would your actual speed be? 140kmph - 6 kmph = 134kmph?

              No, it would be 126kmph (10% of 140 kmph = 14 kmph).

By the way, during our tests, we have found a significant speedo error in the indicated speedo error. Our tests are done on a GTech data logger and we always ignore the indicated speed and refer to the data logger's speed as the error is so big that its not even funny.

Recently I started facing this problem. The engine turns off when I open the throttle when it is idling, but not of its own. The idle RPM is around 1100-1200 when the engine is at normal operating temperature and around 1500 when the bike is started first time for the day. Would adjusting the idle RPM set things right? I have changed the spark plug recently so no question of it being the problem.

your idling rpm is too low you will need to adjust it.
according to the manual it ought to be b/w 1300-1500 rpm. personally, i prefer to keep it around 1500 rpm.

At that speed the typical R15 speedo error is a lot more than that, around 9-10kmph. So your actual speed probably never went above 135kmph.

                      Hi guys,
Recently I was riding in south Tamil nadu where the cross winds are very high. In four lane roads I was not able to keep up even 70 kmph as the wind is pushing away from my line. When riding in 2 lane roads, if any heavy vehicles crosses from opposite side my bike is pushed towards the end of the road and very much difficult to handle in such a kind of situation. Shall I remove the side farings as a solution for this problem ? Will there be any other solution possible ?
                      Thanks in advance .

I believe it is the case for all the bikes. Not only faired one. All bikes who maintain your speed in heavy cross winds will suffer. Since R15 is wind tunnel tested, I guess you are on a bike that can tackle crosswinds , but not completely, but at a certain amount, and you have an advantage over the other fully faired, non wind tunnel tested bikes out there.
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

One of my friend who is also an xbhp'ian (owns R15 v2) completed a saddle sore last month with the a fz guy. He was briefing his experience and said that fz is stable during the cross winds doing 100kmph constantly but his R15 struggled to do the same. If that is possible because of naked version why not in R15.
P.S. I have seen some track R15's without fairings. that's why I had this doubt.
