Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
My idling is set at 1250 rpm... it ll b little high when I start the bike but then reduces to 1250 after engine is hot which I think is normal.. regarding clutch release I dont release it early, spark plug n air filter changed at 10k odo reading... now I hv conpleted 14,500 kms on odo...Originally posted by Ron Syl View PostVivek i dont know how u missed out on asking this in YRC group
whats your ODO reading? did you change the spark plug from the one that was there when you took the bike? did you change air filter anytime before?
check the idle rpm, it should be around 1.4k rpm in these weathers, mine is 1.3k. and does this happen in first gear when you leave the clutch and try to accelerate? leaving the clutch too much before accelerating even little can cause that problem, happened to me too.
. Oh ya, how did I miss posting this question in YRC, will do tht n see what Dempsy has to say

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
My idling is set to normal, I mean its little high when I start the engine, but after the engine is hot it ll b around 1250 rpm... I use Yamalube semi synthetic engine oil, regarding the exact grade I have to chk.. and yes I completed 14,500 kms on odo n did change spark plug n airfilter at 10k serviceOriginally posted by krish2778 View PostWhats your idle rpm setting ? on a cold engine the engine dying off frequently is attributed to a very low idle rpm, ie less than 1k, but then it should cause much problem when the bike is hot , as the idle rpm for a hot engine will be somewhere above 1k. Maybe yours is set really low.
Also what is the grade of the engine oil you are using ?
Cheers

Back after a long time!!

I hope its nothing to do with fuel injection...
Right Vivek, its a spark plug issue. If i'm not wrong once the engine turns off you need to crank it a couple of times to get it started. right? Get the plug cleaned / replaced depending on the condition. how many Km's on the ODO ? i had the same problem at 17K KMS. too much carbon deposit was there. get it cleaned and you are good to go! if the FI system misbehaves, your bike wont start. so rule out that issueKeep Calm and Kaam se Kaam
To all those how-to-run-in-the-bike-oh-it's-so-confusing. Here's an advice.
Read and follow the OWNER's Manual. Keep it simple.. Old School technique will do more good than harm your bike

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Guys I get a "khat" sound(something like metal expanding sound) when I sit on the bike and some times when I go over big bumps... Is it something wrong with the rear suspension or the chassis?? I hear this after my crash ( tyre and fork took most of the damage.. No side impact) so I guess chassis is alright also tried riding with both hands off to check chassis damage, it went perfect.. What's the problem?? Will lubing monocross fix the problem.. Am bit worried
please help

The 'got a new phone ride'
Recently got a HTC one v. Wanted to test its camera[ or say needed an excuse to head out of town]. I am a novice in photography nevertheless the images are looking quite good, its all down to the camera.
Coming to the bike, its been 13800Km on the odo and the engine has opened up nicely. Clocking 100kmph and holding it, is as easy as a pie

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Please check the connection of the Battery with the HID Unit. Also, turn on your headlights in the day to notice if the above mentioned night symptoms are taking place or not. I guess you are loading the battery and that's why the switching off.Originally posted by ghostofsparta View PostGuys need some help here!!!

Apart from the light issue what is your idle RPM? May be lower RPM and Temperature may turn off the bike.sigpic

What does it mean loading the battery?? I have using this setup for at least 6 months!!!! Can you please elaborate clearly? Loading the battery more means adding or installing electronics which have more intake of power than the recommended voltage setup.Originally posted by ghostofsparta View PostWhat does it mean loading the battery?? The way I see it, since you are using this setup for 6 months and this is happening recently then idle rpm is the culprit, keep it between 1300-1500 as mentioned in the manual. Also rains have caused the ambient temperature to drop during night time, this does slightly affect if you have low rpm as mentioned.
Again, try the idling first, if it works then good or there is some electrical issue which has cropped up recently, Report to SVC.sigpic
