Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
guys i plan to change my headlights on my invincible black..i enquired about it and i have found out that
HID overall costs 2.5k
Projectors 8k
however he is suggesting LED light and says it is very powerful.they are priced at 6.5k
Which light should i change to????
he says LED doesnt take strain on batteries is that true?
and if i switch to projectors or HID do i have to change the batteries?will i lose my warranty by that?

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Yes, change in any part of electricals will void your warranty. As he said LED will consume battery lesser than HID's. I don't know about the cost involved in it so check with other members .Originally posted by Shubho247 View Postguys i plan to change my headlights on my invincible black..i enquired about it and i have found out that

Hey urgent suggestion needed.
Can I get a 130/80/17 rear tyre fixed in my v.2 if yes then what would be the advantage and disadvantages of it as I don't want to use a Mrf tyre and I'm getting PSD in the above mentioned size. a quick reply will be appreciated. thanks in advance

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
hey guys, am new here..getting my special motogp edition racing blue R15 in just over a week from now...in the last few days i have been reading several posts in this thread that a newbie like me should know, for instance, about oil and petrol and when to change the oil etc, have taken down some notes but anyway i will be asking some naive newbie type questions here for some time so please excuse me..i dont know any fellow R15 riders (or anyone who's serious, knowledgeable and caring about their bikes) where i live and actually pretty sure most owners of the bike in allahabad (where i live) dont even bother much about all this stuff seriously, hence the internet is my sole source of info..
anyway, the first question i have is whether the yamaha showroom guys typically entertain the request of removing the saree guard and the rear hugger while delivering the bike ? i know i can ask them and i will, but i think they wont and so before asking them i'd like to know if anyone ever got the showroom guys to do it without much tussle..if yes, then i can use the info. to insist the allahabad showroom guys to do it.
i know there's some ambiguity regarding which petrol is best suited (some say bp, some indian oil, some hp and some say any of them as long as the petrol station is legitimate and not selling bad petrol that wasnt stored properly), so i guess what i must ask is is indian oil good enough ? the nearest decent petrol pump to my place is that of indian oil (been using it for my scooty, seemed alright a station so far) and the nearest decent looking bp station is like 10 kms away into the messy city of allahabad..of course i am willing to go to the bp one if indian oil is questionable (hopefully not though)...and am i right in thinking that the main thing is to fill the petrol of the same company and not change it every now and then?
and the third question is what are some of the basic things i should keep in mind when they deliver the bike to me ? is there some kind of a check list they'd have me ensure and sign before giving the keys to me or something ?
in case either of these questions have been extensively discussed in this thread, please direct me to them and delete this post..the thread is huge so it's impossible to go through every post
and also, anyone in here from allahabad who's serious about revving yet caring for his R15 ?

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Be gentle with the service guys, and they will remove it for you. Not a big deal, hardly a 10 min job. And, I suggest not to remove the mugduard completely, but rather cut it like this.Originally posted by aditya_YZF-R15 View Posthey guys, am new here..getting my special motogp edition racing blue R15 in just over a week from now...in the last few days i have been reading several posts in this thread that a newbie like me should know, for instance, about oil and petrol and when to change the oil etc, have taken down some notes but anyway i will be asking some naive newbie type questions here for some time so please excuse me..i dont know any fellow R15 riders (or anyone who's serious, knowledgeable and caring about their bikes) where i live and actually pretty sure most owners of the bike in allahabad (where i live) dont even bother much about all this stuff seriously, hence the internet is my sole source of info..

Hope you can see it, if you need, I will put a clear pic.
Fill in from a reputed petrol bunk. I usually fill from Indian Oil. I suggest not to change bunks randomly. Use same brand as far as you can.

Bought a new Yamaha R15 - Maintenance & Cleaning Tips
Hi Guys,
I've recently bought a Yamaha R15 and loving it like hell
Its been beautifully gliding for about 45 days, 840 kms.
1. I'd like to know the regular maintenance tips and tricks to keep the bike in its best form.
2. Cleaning tips would be greatly appreciated. How do you clean the nooks and corners of the bike ?? My hands do reach out in the deeper crevices.
3. How regularly do you change the oil ?
Yes I've read the user manual. Things apart from that book is what I'm looking for.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Yeah. . That's what I heard.. the speedo error is counted in percentage. And for R15 the speedo error is around 10% and thats a lot.Originally posted by abhimanyu31 View PostSpeedo error is always calculated in terms of percentage and not in terms of actual kmph. So what does that mean? Let us assume that your bike has a 10% speedo error in it. So when you are riding at an indicated speed of 60 kmph the actual speed of the bike would be 54 (10% of 60kmph = 6kmph).
Now, when you are doing an indicated speed of 140 kmph, what would your actual speed be? 140kmph - 6 kmph = 134kmph?
No, it would be 126kmph (10% of 140 kmph = 14 kmph).
By the way, during our tests, we have found a significant speedo error in the indicated speedo error. Our tests are done on a GTech data logger and we always ignore the indicated speed and refer to the data logger's speed as the error is so big that its not even funny.

Where as in bigger bikes like 600cc or 1000cc the percentage of speedo error is less.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
good to know. hopefully they will have no problem when i request this to them at the time of delivery...and yeah i actually meant cutting it in half like that. but didnt know it would involve cutting, because i thought the rear hugger is not in one piece but in two separate parts (the one that i intend to remove like you have and the upper part of the hugger to be kept) because it kinda always looked like it.anyway.Originally posted by Ivin View PostBe gentle with the service guys, and they will remove it for you. and thanks for redirecting me to that thread about things to check at the time of delivery...two points in there are bothering me...the first post in that thread lists two things that are not to be done or avoided as much as possible for a new bike that is still in run-in period - not making short distance rides and not to ride in rains (or as least as possible)...i am concerned because this is rainy season of course and so obviously it's going to rain whenever nature pleases (which is a good thing), well it might turn out that i have to bring the bike from the showroom to my place after delivery in slight rains (if it turns out to be raining that whole day)...is this not riding a new bike in rains really a serious thing to ensure? may i know the reason how that can have a negative effect on a new bike? and secondly, where i work and where i stay are like 450m distant from each other and imagine myself using the bike to traverse that little distance as well (well mostly because during the whole day i have to traverse that distance at least 4-5 times usually (so thats 1.5-2 kms every day typically and i hate walking so much)...basically i actually have no practical need for any bike and have bought the R15 purely for fun and pleasure and ecstasy
..so again i am wondering is riding a new bike in short distances really a serious not-to-do (unless urgent or rare) thing and why ? someone please enlighten me..
