You acn use Chain Lube, it will not create a mess.
Note: whenever you have problem with tank lock also while unlocking it, just spray some chain lube in it. Its very helpful.

Buddy this is the very first and oldest trend of xBhpians while riding, by keeping ur lights on(offcourse dipper).
Also you can identify fellow xBhpians on road by seeing there headlights on in daytime.(Note: everyone is not xBhpian on road, the one with smatter head covered by Helmet and riding gear only).

I thoroughly read the whole manual it says, not to exceed 4.5k rpm until 500km and and 5.5k afterwards upto 1k km and first service. I'm following the manual properly. Any additional tips on run-in & gear shifting for me?

Another question, Does the paint on tank peels off with time? And, do I really need a tank pad?
Sonu as mentioned by rocker keep the rev limit as mentioned. Just remember not to exceed 7k rpm for initial days. You can have sudden burst but always keep a check on your rev limit. For comfortable gear shift always remember to change gears at 4k rpm or above.
Didn't hear'd of any such news of paint getting peeled off with time(until and unless you get a dent).
Do get a tank pad as that part of the tank is contact with your body and color will fade after continuous friction from riding gear and body.
Tank pad will also help you to avoid getting a dent there.

It does. To some extent though. But never mind. Knee comes first.

I am aware of that mate. My question was in a different league altogether which I suppose he also understood and responded.

Has anybody got information on Fork Oil Replacement, its a year old, 19k run and the forks haven't been touched even once. No oil leak near the seals either, has anybody here performed fork oil replacement on their ride before?

I have done at 10k. Now will do at 20k kms. Its 250ml in one fork. If doing it yourself, you can get the fork oil from the spare parts section.

Nah, its a tedious affair, also I'm lacking with tools!! Yeah probably will do it over the weekend.

@All - I had posted that Im using 20W50 Mineral in my bike

The response till now is overwhelming, the shifts are smooth be it anytime of the day! The bike responds well in higher RPMS, though the tin can had FZ16 logo, I think its apt for R15, 20w50 is also prescribed in the manual.

Might go for oil change at regular interval since the oil level after a month is still the same, the dipstick highlights upto the required mark. This one costed me Rs 305, its mineral.

Yes. Right. But Yamaha svc says they got information that they should fill 250ml in all R15's from now on.

Ask them to show you the service bulletin saying so. Don't take their word for it.
