What is the case if we go for high beam. Then it is 35+35=70. Correct me if I am wrong.
Its not 35 inside a 35. It 35 and 35 on both sides. And hence cannot add 35 + 35 here. Its just 35w on left and 35w on right. Think .
If it was 70w, it means much better lighting than CBR 250R high beam or a Bajaj Pulsar 220 high beam. Right ? But its not even close to theirs . Why ? Because, they have 55w and we have 35w. Simple logic

A fork stabilizer is said to increase fork rigidity, by reducing fork flux, hence making the bike a better handler, easy to corner and better straight line stability. But I believe once we get the wrong one installed , that is the one that hasn't been made for the bike (read: not just the fork, but for the bike) will hamper the stock characteristic of the bike thereby reducing the handling and making things worse.

We are correct in our own terms Ivin

I was referring to the total drain on the battery of 70 W, not the light output.
What i was asking was Will the R 15 handle 2 55 W hid projectors or 4 25 W will get me a better output for touring
What will be the load on the battery and will I be able to make a complete night journey with 2 X 55 W or 4 X 25 W with my RPM's ranging in excess of 7 K?

@ Abhimanyu

I made the fork brace myself. Hand cut. But after a lot of trail and errors. Material used is a single piece of Aluminum Plate @ 12 mm thickness.
Couldn't make it thin for a mono block as the front mudguard comes in between. So had to raise it and secure it. Fits perfectly. Better response from the front end. Can feel how bad the road is. That minute detail can be felt. I do admit the setup is a bit vibey on bad roads, but on smooth roads she handles like a dream and cornering is so fun with it. Did it a year back and didn't remove it from the bike thereafter.

And as for the frame sliders the stud is made in brass with 14 mm thread and thread depth is close to 2 inches. The stud dia is 22 mm. The material used for the puck is Dupont teflon.
Had 2 falls on either sides where only the pucks were damaged and I had them redone. Notice the difference in the puck design.

I did not cut or drill holes anywhere in the fairing nor I removed any mesh. I welded the nuts to an angular Iron and then welded that to the frame on the lower end.
I weigh a ton and my bike did suffer two major crashes and to be honest I had the frame checked at the svc by a engineer from Yamaha Japan who fortunately had been on a visit to the service center. He did say that the frame was intact. And I had been riding the same bike for over a year on high speeds and also recently did a trip to Chennai during this summer where the temp was close to 50 degrees. I still had no problems.

For the step plates this was the initial design. Later modified the plates.

And this is how the Triple T mount is on my bike

All the extra stuff on my bike is designed, developed to my needs and either hand cut or done on a lathe machine by me. So don't ask me where I have purchased them as I made them myself.

Friends I am not boasting about what I have done. I had my first crash during a ride with my friends to Araku. That made a huge hole in my pocket. Then I developed these parts as they are not readily available off the shelf nor they are available online to purchase . So I tested my DIY skills and that was the result.

I am a happy rider with little fear that even If I crash, I can manage things my own, rather than paying huge bills to Yamaha.

• strange buzzing noise at 7k+ RPM

I have started getting a loud, high pitched buzzing-like noise (like from something vibrating at high frequency) at high RPMS 7k and over. The higher the RPM the worse it gets.
Also, the noise is at its peak when engine braking from high RPM.

My bike has 22k kms on the ODO. I ride the bike pretty hard pretty much all the time.
There are no vibrations, just the noise.
I have been getting some noise from the clutch at idle (clutch bell noise i am told) since last 2k km which doesn't seem to have gotten any worse, certainly doesn't sound any worse at idle with the bike in neutral.

Could the noise be coming from the clutch?
Engine mounting bolts loose perhaps?
Loose fairing?
What do you guys think?

You seem to be pretty nifty and talented

About the HIDs... My advice (based on my & my friends' experience); don't do it... It's not worth the headache and trouble that you are setting yourself up for. They are completely useless in rains and totally ineffective on wet roads. The R15's charging setup is not adequate to support a 2 projector HID setup. There are reliability problems and as the setup is not designed as a water proof system, problems crop up after pressure washes.

Bro can the battery withstand 1-55w and 1-35w running at same time???
Planing to change to night breaker 55w on low beam. So high beam will be 35+55w. Can it withstand??

The R15's charging system is rated as 160w @ 5,000 rpm. So on paper at least you should be ok if you are going to be using both the lights at 5,000 rpm and above. Prolong use below 5,000 rpm is likely to put some stress on the battery.

If you are using only the low beam below the 5,000 rpm mark, I don't foresee any problem.

abhi. I am already on a twin projector setup. 35W HID on both sides. Have been using this for the past 1 year.
No problems so far. As for the pressure wash I don't do it. I always wash my bike at home.

What I'm asking is can it withstand 2 55 w projectors. I usually ride above 5k rpm.

And for the other lighting all are on leds.

Kindly enlighten me so that I can go for it

^^^ as I mentioned in my earlier post, the charging system is rated at 160W @ 5,000 rpm. So if you are using a 55W twin projector system you are essentially using 115W (55W x 2 + 5W for taillight) for the lighting. That leaves 45W for the rest of the bike. Now, the charging system has to provide for 21 different electrical uses including fuel pump, injection system, position lights, cooling fan, etc. Thus, there is no margin remaining if you use a 55W system.
