When do we exactly need to use 6th speed transmission? Ever since I changed from fz to r15 I didn't quite get the clear idea of when to use coz I always get use to 5 gears mode taken from its sibling . some guys says not needed in particular road or speed.... Some says you can use it like normal bike which has 5 speed transmission.. I need your suggestion coz I believe this is one particular place where one can get an ideal solution:thumbup:

Although I am not a pro I shall give a try to help you out!
6th gear is basically a economy gear. Beyond 50-55 kmph you can shift to 6th which the engine would accept wihout jerk. And if you are trying to do beyond 130kmph+ try to shift it bit late so that engine will not have much to push!

If this is the case I'm very glad that I am exactly doing the same.... But I did try to leave till 110kmph(occasionally) before shifting the 6th gear and reached 130 above with ease otherwise I'm dead right to follow the ratio what you mentioned above.... Great dude! Thanks a lot looking forward to see what other buddies say

            Hey guys, query time
So I've given the little R to my brother(older than me), and he's taking good care of it, but he's facing some problems with it. It'll be kind enough of you all to help me to help him out
1.he complaints of feeling every bump up to his head, making it shake and thereby shaking his eyes >>vision. Now, I rode it for a short span and didn't felt a thing, maybe because I have weight and good physique. I want to know if it's a problem with the suspension or with my brother avg. Height and weight in 60's line.
            2. He has tightened every bolt but the faring still vibrate/rattle a little bit,any magic/mod etc for that. ..?
            3. Wants to know how much that blue Angel eye hid setup costs and is it worth. ..?(I ain't paying him)
FYI rode the bike after a month and man, I missed that short awesome gearing. ...
            Thanks.

R15 has a stiff suspension and as far as i know you cant adjust the suspension settings in r15. Tell your brother that do not hold on to the handle bar tightly and check the tyre pressure also.
              2. He has tightened every bolt but the faring still vibrate/rattle a little bit,any magic/mod etc for that?
There may be some loose bolts, show it to the svc.

The HID with angel eye setup can drain your battery, so think before you are going for any of HID setup. You can also opt for a higher capacity battery.

In typical city commuting its unlikely you will need the 6th gear. And IMO there is no economy in lugging the engine or riding the bike outside its power-band.

Its better to not worry about what gear you are in but instead concentrate on keeping the engine in the RPM range where its making good power. You can tell that by the sound the engine's making and the amount of pull from the engine when you twist the throttle. I feel riding in the power-band is important both from a rideability as well as safety POV.

Opting for higher capacity/Amp battery do we need to make any modification on battery holder? I spoke to a Tata green battery dealer he said "if you increase the Amp you might end up making some modification to enlarge the battery holder & the wiring harness and alternator may not be compatible with higher capacity batteries and could cause short circuit". Please clear this doubt.

Just shave of the foam in the battery holder and plug in a 5amp battery to replace the existing 3.5amp battery. No need of any modifications in the alternator or wiring harness just plug and play 5amp battery...

I have also had this problem for long now.
What I did last week was I opened the whole fairing and install rubber seals on every screw. Now there isn't a single vib or rattling sound.

                        Ride safe and have fun.

best use of it will be on highway as the power delivery here is less than other gears, meaning its meant for highway ride to keep a good speed and also not to over stress the engine, and not to forget that FE will increase in highway because of this. but in city till 5th gear is more then enough.

Shifting to 6th gear at 110kph?? Well, I change every gear right at 4k rpm during normal city driving, the same at 5k rpm during the highways and well, 7k rpm shifts when i get a free deserted highway. 75% of my driving would be the first one!

Yes bro.... This is bit hard on my babe but I did it hardly 2 or 3 times but once I end up reaching 141kmph my fastest ride ever in a bike. Its just to check many people say it reaches 140kmph, I rightly tried it and felt it. Otherwise almost every time I used to make the engine feel lot better. Thanks for sharing your thoughts:thumbup:

Guys need some little help... Crossed 10k mark and now i feel like handle bar is pushing me to turn more when i turn left.. Its not happening when i lean the bike but when i take a left turn, after a bit of turning it pushes me to turn more.. Checked the forks for any signs of damage and tried riding my leaving both hands off.. Goes straight. No accidents or falls. What could be the reason?? Uneven tyre wear at front ?? Or something wrong at rear?? Its more at slow speeds and only on left side.. Please help
