Hi guys, just got my v2 1 week back. Bike is behaving in some unexpected manner. I guess this is common with a new bike before first service, but still I want to have your suggestions on this.
Last weekend on Sat (I was desperately waiting for it ) I took it for a ride from Pune on Nagar road and had a round trip of around 192KMs. During the ride I strictly maintained 5K on tacho (In city ride I maintain it on 4K and shift only after that). Even at this much RPM bike is easily touching 65+ on flat stretch, however gear shifting was required during uphill. I also gave some rest to engine after every 30-35 KMs.
The very next day I took it on Bangalore highway and had round trip of 140Kms. Here I faced small potholes and patched up sections of road on which I continued my normal speed. Now on odo it is displaying 440. (I also rode the bike in city for daily commuting)

                  1. On Sunday when I was parking my bike in the evening I heard some sound, which I thought was coming either from front wheel or lower middle section of bike. This sound is something like which comes when a tree leaf gets stuck between spokes of a bicycle wheel, and it is coming only when the bike is in motion. If I rev the engine with bike stationary, there is no such sound.
So, I took the bike on a nearby bridge (it generally has very less or no traffick), and let it run down the slope in neutral with clutch pressed and ignition off. I noticed that this sound is coming only at low speed (around 20-25 kmph), and slowly vanishes. I checked the chain slack, and it looks perfect for a normal bike.
                  2. Front forks are making some sound when released from compressed state.
                  3. Rear discs are making screeching sort of noise when I apply the brakes. Also from discs are making little noise when I park the bike, moving it by myself (engine off).
                  4. Today I noticed that the visor is vibrating slightly and making sound when I rev after gear shift.

Are all these signs normal with new bike, as bike is only 10 days old. Also, with ref to #1 Is it chain noise. There is no externally visible problem with bike (I am really worried for #1 that If a bearing got broken down in front wheel during riding on potholes at 60-65).
I am taking to svc tomorrow, but still I want to have suggestion from guys who are already maintaing the bike. Does all these signs will vanish after first service.
Me, my ride and endless roads...

I just got my Special Edition just a month back! Really baby'd it till 1000kms and then started going in for the beast in it! Regarding yours.... The manual says that especially during running in period, Do not go for continuous long rides and if done so, give a 15 minute break for every 45 minutes travelled!

                      1. Does the noise sound more like a hiss? If yes, It might be from the chain which might be lubed well... Happens in mine and guess its just normal.

                      2. When going on a speed breaker/pot holes and when the front suspension retracts back to its normal state, It does make some noise like compressed air being let out... Make sure that it doesn't squeak.

                      3. Try this, Go for a 2km ride without using the rear brake. Park the bike and try touching the disc. It will feel really hot (sure in your case, the same in mine too) Don't know why, but this is common with most of the R15's out there! Guess the caliper is always in touch. The front break is perfect! The rear does make squeaking sounds for me too!

                      4. This is also very common. I bet that you get those vibes at 3.5k to 4k rpm. And when those buzzing vibes come, try pulling the windshield a little towards yourself. Those vibe's disappear. Got the same issue, Managed to live with it because this ain't a problem!

Regarding my First service, They told that they didnt have an oil filter element in stock but would do all the other works etc etc... bla bla... They wouldn't co-operate properly and answer my questions. So, went to another Spares dealer, Got an oil filter element. Went to a Shell petrol bunk and purchased a Shell Advance Ultra. Came home, did all the cleaning, replacing, lubing work by myself. And riding in peace till date!

                      Cheers!

Arvind, I appreciate your prompt reply. As in case with #1 the sound is not exactly like hiss, it something tik-tik which increase its frequency with speed and slowly vanishes.

R25 or vmax ? huge difference both interms of type and price tag. Entry level Sport bike to an ultimate cruiser 1.7 liter capacity & more than 20lacs price difference mate...but still a good comparison though its Yamaha all the way:thumbup:

Oh, This seems new! Don't worry... That's likely a minor problem! Hope you get all of them cleared during your first service! All the best!
