It can be used. However, I would advice that it not be mixed with coolant currently present in the bike. Before changing the brand, it's advisable to do a complete flush of the cooling system,

Personally, I feel such coolants are redundant with the advent of premixed ready to use coolants like Motul Motocool. I use Engine Ice which is a ready to use coolant with de-ionized and de-mineralized water.

Abhi, what is the price of Engine Ice and where is it available. Was looking for it and couldn't find it in my place.

^^^ I really don't recall the price as I had bought it about 18 months back. In case you are wondering how any coolant can last that long, it simply does. I have not had to do any top of the coolant for more than a year. Its really stable. Anyway, the coolant is available in Mumbai, at the Motoshop, Tel: + 91 22 65 90 91 92. I am told that they ship anywhere in India. You can give them a call.

I can see that twist the whole part but not too freely though. Can I fix it at home? I am going on a 300 km ride tomorrow. So wanted to know whether it would cause any problems?
            Hi Guys,

            Just an FYI.

I had put up those switch covers you get for some 30-40 bucks. Apparently, that caused some problem (breaking some plastic base for the switch) and that's the reason for the whole switch setup moving instead being in one place.

The SVC guys are saying that the whole switch needs to be replaced. So a 30 bucks cover has given me a 600-odd bucks maintenance cost. I guess that's the pay for being too careful.

Guys. When is it safe to start using 100% synthetic oil like Motul 300v? Is there a specific period or I can use it right away from my 2nd service?

                        Okies..

And one more thing..When I used to own an Apache RTR Fi, I used to stay at the service center for the entire service procedure. However, it doesn't seem to be possible to do the same here at the place I give it for servicing (Ganesh Enterprises, Vikhroli, Mumbai).. Mine was I guess the 2nd or 3rd bike to come for service and it was ready only by 6 PM. So if someone is already using their own preferred oil out here, how do you make sure that you are not cheated? One way for Motul 300v is that I guess the oil is green in color. So manually checking the oil from the dipstick is one option. Any other suggestions?

Why are you so much interested in 300V? Any specific reason? Also, in the free services, if you opt for any other oil other than Yamalube. There are chances of your warranty getting void. Your ride is just one service old, let her cover kms. Till 3k-3.5k use Mineral oil, after that switch to Semi Synth oil. Dont go for Full Synth so early.

Also, if there are no major issues with the bike, the service gets completed within 2 hours (max).

If you want to change the oil to your wish. DIY is the best bet in this case.

                          Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

Can you show me where it is written in the terms of warranty that Yamalube needs to be used for the period of the warranty, else warranty will get void? What is the exact reason for not using fully synthetic 'so early'?

I have used 300v before and found it good. Thats why I want to switch.

At the place where I give my bike for servicing, It usually takes a lot of time due to a lot of vehicles coming daily. So the only option is to leave the bike in the morning and collect it in the evening.

Thats what i was told during my free service period. So, i had no option but to use Yamalube till the free service got over.

Regarding the use of FS oils, many people who have used it initially, have faced issues with it. So, just to be on the safer side, i adviced him the same. Its upto ones discretion to go for Mineral/SS/FS oil. The Yamalube for R15 itself is SS oil.
