  • No problem, even i am facing same issue.
next time tell the service guy to lube it with all care.
Yes you can use washing powder or shampoo.
it will go, not a big problem.

    what i did
    took a dry cloth
    rubbed it hard and voila
    all gone from tyre.

What about the other bulb ?
Should it be a HID too or stick to stock, if it is stock will it not look odd on the high beam?
      Am confused
am also new to this lighting stuff
Bixenon - So that you can use the bulb for high + low beam side. 4300k/ 6000k - I dont know the technical implications of it, but the higher you go, the bluer the shade gets. I have seen 4300k, 6000k and 8000k HIDs and personally would prefer 4300k > 6000k > 8000k.

I tried to wash it off and its not going even after water wash.. i feel like i lose some grip because of that bcz for the first time today my rear wheel locked under normal braking.Never happened before Plz help me on removing it...Can i use Dish washer like Pril to remove it?? Is it safe to use
Chain lube getting sprayed on the tyre The tyre must have skid in your case and not locked cos rear wheel can get locked only cos of the brakes. I am not sure what to be used in that case. But the chain lube does get on to the rear rim. I use my chain cleaner to clean off the muck, requires just one light spray.

Yes, thats what I meant. Since the initial power required for HIDs is much more than stock halogens, it would drain your battery if you go for 2 35W HID. Thats exactly what happened with most of YRCians who went for twin HID lights.

And yes, HIDs tend to blind oncoming traffic. Hence, my setup was HID only for the high beam, to be used mostly on highways with dividers.

      • Hi Guys,

I am Mumbai and about to book baby r1 next month from Ganesh Enterprises, Vikhroli Mumbai .. Can someone tell me the experience of buying from them?
I have been a spectator to this thread for almost a month now and have gone through each of the queries/replies . I have gotten a detailed PDI given somewhere in this thread forgive my memory dont remeber who had posted it but I am grateful to them. However, anything else I need to keep in mind? This is going to be my first bike. I had previously owned a second hand p150 2003 model. Learnt bike riding on that bike.

Ya man... Locking causes skid... It locks because breaking force is more than the frictional force between the tyre and the road.. In My case friction was reduced bcz of the chain lube that is sprayed on my tyre..

Use kerosene, wipe away the lube, clean it with shampoo or soap, back to normal.

                • Need review about using Full synthetic engine oil.

My bike is up for 7th servicing(ODO 18K) in next week. It feels a bit harsh now. That's why thinking of changing.
My city riding is very less ~10 kms a day. Weekend rides are all ~500 kms or more. So Full synthetic might be useful.

I saw some posts of @nastrofaction about using the FS oil.
It would be helpful if you can post some more details like which 1 are you using(300V ?) and in that case is it required to replace the engine oil every 3000kms or the gap can be more ?

Reviews from anyone else(who is using FS oil on R15) also would be highly appreciated.

If its on the left end of the tire tread (maybe some on the sidewall too) then its probably a careless application of the chain lube that got it there.
just leave it alone, don't try pril or some other stuff. once you use that part of the tire during normal riding it will go away.
also, from my experience i can tell it doesn't seem to affect the tire grip much.
just make sure it doesn't happen in the future.

another thing, the tires on the r15 are seriously good and the handling of the bike (in corners) is just unreal.
but, it all comes down to the rider to utilize that potential. slam on the rear brake in panic while cornering and no tire in the world can save ya. :-)

Indirectly you are advising Xda to corner with high speed.
