Whenever, I shift gears, first three gears, I feel a comfortable thud at the chain during gear shift. But from 4th gear, I do not get this feedback anymore, they go missing and I end up with a delayed power response on twisting the throttle. Chain slack has been checked and adjsuted but the issue is still present. Would this problem be related in anyway to earlier block piston one? I was used to the confident gear thud at chain earlier.

Try to move the gear lever with your hand. If a lot of play is there then adjust it or change it

Sprocket and chain was replaced 3000 km earlier. I dont think new sprocket would go bad so soon.

It's just 2 8mm bolts takes 2 mins to open and check. What's the harm

Whatever it is it must be a minor thing. Yamaha gearboxes are robust of all. Don't worry about major things must be something trivial

Can anyone help me out with a good service center here in Kolkata.
I went to Velocity Motors and they messed up my bike. My 2nd free service is coming up in 2 days. I need information on a good service center really soon.

How did they messed up your bike? The first service is nothing but oil change and normal cleaning.

                      Ride safe and have fun.

Checked for the gear lever play as suggested by you and bang on found the problem. The bolt is missing from the far end of the stick/rod which I suppose is gear lever adjuster. Have circled the part in the picture. Will get it fixed tomorrow and hopefully it solves one of my problem. Thanks a lot man. I owe you.

Yamaha doesnt come with the link rod adjuster. Its just a bent rod. There will be some play but never bothersome.

Shouldn't there be a bolt at the end of it. I touched the end and could feel threading on it which made me feel there should be a bolt here.

They messed up my clutch due to which the clutch plate got burnt. The pick up of the bike went down drastically. They did something to the brakes. The rear brake are really bad. These are the major ones.

I use auto rickshaw gear oil (not the bike gear oil) but my bike looks like garbage.
I am fine because my chain is 70k plus kms.
Your call if you want performance then gear oil is the best bet else you have to compromise.
All lubes say big stuff. Once you give them the stick they show their shortcomings.

I am using engine oil to lube and it works for around 500-600 kms. Gear oil seems too sticky and feeling some power is robbed. Mine is 30K now still 40K need to go then . During second service mechanic tightened bit more and after running with some pillion it gave some weird noises at particular rpm around 5k on the odo in 3,4,5,6 gears. I am not sure whether mech screwed up the bearing inside the gear box or chain is causing this hulling noise.

It just a washer and cotter pin.
