hello people, is 24-25k kms a good/acceptable mileage for the tyres, (particularly the front) or is that too low a mileage ? i know of course it depends a lot on riding style and road conditions over which most of the riding was done etc, but statistically speaking how good or bad is a 24-25000 kms run for the front tyre ?

On my RS200 rear tyre was done at 12k kms and front tyre almost done at 13k kms can go max 1k kms more!!

Depends a lot on riding style and road conditions as you pointed out. Also depends a lot on the tyre compound. Had Nylogrip Zapper Vyde (rear) and it lasts a lot less compared to medium compounds like Zapper C/Y and even less compared to hard compounds like Sirac etc, but soft compound tyres offer phenomenal grip on-road. The front tyre (Zapper FY1) lasts a lost and 20k is acceptable. yes 12-13k sounds very low haha...my rear tyre still has a lot of life left in it, probably another 6-8000 kms at least (bike odo at 23.5k kms), maybe more..the central portion of the front is nearly washed out though, at most i can maybe stretch it another 1000-2000 kms, but if i dont change it before the rains i'll probably be in serious trouble finding any grip haha..Originally posted by IamAditya View PostVery Good, I must say.

yeah depends a lot on the compound too of course...i forgot to say my tyre was the stock MRF tyre for R15 (forgot what it was called, REVZ or something i think?), and i think i'll stick with the stock ones when i replace the old tyres...although every once in a while i wonder about trying out pirellis or IRCs that apparently many R15 riders have used and found to be very good for grip and handling in general (but likely have less than 10k kms life).

Ofcourse was asking about removing the injector and then back flushing it with this. And, WD40 for cleanning injectors?! I thought that was the worst thing to do. But you are a guy who cares alot for your R15. So I'm gonna re-consider my impression about using WD40. Have you also used WD40 for cleaning the throttle body, and how was it?
24-25k is about the average lifetime for R15's stock MRFs. From most people that I've read on net had this mileage. But as you said, It depends alot upon road conditions and riding style. None of the folks owning R15 in my city have crossed 18k on thier MRFs. Usually they change at 15-16k I thought I could pull mine to 25k. But it now seems would require super sane riding. Any sort of degreaser be it carb cleaner choke cleaner or wd40 is bad for rubber. Trick is after you passed wd40 or carb cleaner through the injector you have to pass petrol through the injector for some time so that the cleaner is flushed from the inside. Using a 9v battery is preferable and don't run the injector for long durations sata single stretch. Run it for 2 3 secs max in a shot.
Throttle body is free of any rubber parts afaik and you can use anything. Even normal petrol and a tooth brush will do. Again if you use wd40 then follow the same process that I mentioned for injectors and wash it with petrol.

well that's good to know...i'm not quite the super sane rider, though i'm no longer too aggressive (unnecessary hard braking etc) either most of the times...being in UP i've had a lot of broken road (or sometimes no road xD) riding as well, so kinda surprised my tyres have lasted this long...the rear as i said still has a lot of life in it...front has some life too as long as i dont go too hard and "adrenaline" on the front under braking and cornering (ultra rare opportunities at that anyway) in which case grip and feedback is hard to find..
front brake pads have been changed twice, both at roughly 12k kms of life...the rear pad is still stock and plenty of life left yet which always surprises my mechanic haha..Last edited by aditya_YZF-R15; 05-05-2017, 04:32 PM.

Yamaha R15 engine warning light
I have Yamaha R15 v2 2015 , last 3 days ago my starter relay has been stopped working I changed that but after that day my speed sensor stopped working properly it shows different number and after this next day my engine warning light started blinking and I'm worried about this it blinks as 4 time slow and 2 blinks fast and when I start bike it light blow with no blink and when I drive it irritates me . When I went SVC they told me you have to change your charger sensor (near speedo meter) and speed sensor ! Guys help me please !

Hello friends.. my rear disk pad worn out completely..today i visited nearest service station.. they told me that there are 2 types of disk pad, one for 690rs and other 990rs..??!! what you think guys ?? which one is best ?? difference ? work postponed to monday..

lol no...who uses the rear to deliberately slip and slide under brakes (as if entering hard on the corners under hard braking) on the public roads anyway dude ? xD not me anyway..attempting such things as an amateur are only for the race tracks, and better done with slicks anyway..
sometimes i slide it around just a bit under slight throttle while negotiating potholes and undulations over slippery or uneven/patchy surfaces, or coming out of corners (which is not any feat really given that i find the rear tyre doesn't provide a whole lot of grip when tilted out its central portion) if opportunity presents (road totally empty etc) which is rare...using rear brakes on such instances would negate the intended purpose.
anyways, bikes like R15 which are front end focused dont require the rear brakes much anyway...i use it mostly when i am on slippery surfaces or broken roads to stabilise the bike when braking, and sometimes under sudden hard braking, and sometimes if i am and my right arm is tired of using the front brake solely..i am surprised everyone else's rear pads dont last that long in a bike that doesnt require rear brake that much, even if one uses it every time for better stabilisation.Last edited by aditya_YZF-R15; 05-06-2017, 09:33 PM.

Ask him to show the disc pads and take photos of pads and packaging and share here. There are 2 types, one for front tire and one for rear tire. hello guys, i am noticing one prob with my R15 v2. my bike has completed around 650kms and since the last 2 days i am noticing a strange prob with it. my bike suddenly stops responding while riding and the goes dead completely for sometime. turning the ignition off and on doesnt do any help at all. the display also goes blank and there is no indication at all(by indication i mean the failure light error flashes). however after a few minutes turning the ignition back on does bring life into the bike. i showed it to the yamaha svc and the svc personel did take a long test ride with me but we couldnt reproduce the prob. they however have cleaned all the battery terminals and gave back the bike. this issue has occurred for 4times till now. does anyone have any idea on this? please help
