Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
The problem lies in higher power band. Till 80-85 kmph, the bike is all good but once I start pushing the bike after that, the engine doesn't feel good. I was riding around 97 kmph with about 60% throttle and touched only 100 kmph with full throttle. The engine started to feel uncomfortable and hence I dropped my speed to keep it in its happy zone. Even changing gear from 3rd to 4th the sublteness was not present. The feedback did not provide me with good feel (Normally gear change gives you click and good feel of changing). Could be something that I might be doing wrong, but can definitely say it was not like this before.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostActually oil below the exhaust typically means we have a oil in the combustion chamber which means the engine burns the oil with fuel resulting in smoke. Does the bike remain the same even after the clutch plate replacement same w.r.t pick up and power delivery?
Cheers!

Though 22k odo is too less for bore related issues to arise, your symptoms are same as what I faced.Originally posted by vinay21987 View PostNot sure about the type. I will check the invoice that was given after last servicing once I get back home.
My bike was losing about 200-300ml every 1000kms, I had to change valves, piston and rings.. apparently bore was good..
You may have the same issue or as mentioned earlier valve seal issue, go to a mechanic you trust and get it checked. Your engine will have to be opened.
Before that stop using motul.
Fill Yamalube and check oil level after 1000kms (check 2 or 3 times),
Don't go by the dip stick, drain the oil and measure.
Also check for smoke when the engine is warm.. on a cold engine or after wash it could just be water.
Also if you have done all services in SVC with oil change. Ask if you can get any claims under warranty (if warranty is still applicable).

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
The bike was running on Yamalube synthetic oil when the problem was determined. The whole oil was flushed into a container to determine its level rather than dip method. Right now I am in trial and error period with new oil. I am going to use it for few hundred kms before getting it back to SVC. Do I need to go through the break in period again, once all rings and valves are fixed?Originally posted by Gurudatt View PostThough 22k odo is too less for bore related issues to arise, your symptoms are same as what I faced.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
I don't think Yamaha service stations provide Motul 300v.. by any chance if u have used 300V, stay away from it in the future..Originally posted by vinay21987 View PostI think its 300v itself. Had a word with mechanic and he said it is 15w50 oil. So I guess its the same. Correct me if I am wrong.
Yes u need to run in the engine..Originally posted by vinay21987 View PostDo I need to go through the break in period again, once all rings and valves are fixed?

Please check Valve clearance too. I thought of adjusting valve clearance last month. But with the current temperature in summer it seems to be perfect.Originally posted by vinay21987 View PostSurely man. I will be going according to the pointers. Thanks for your suggestions.
