    Hi Saurabh,

I bought my baby last month from Ganesh Enterprises, Vikhroli, Mumbai. OTR-130000. I had posted this price a few pages back...

You could enquire about the OTR at AIMS at Thane too.

    • Hi Saurabh,
If u want you can also inquire from Kamala yamaha borivali - 28336100/ 28337100(show room numbers)
Excellent yamaha andheri - 022 28220272 as for showroom number from here.

If there is not much of difference more than 1K then u can go for AIMS thane...
But if there is you can surely pick any of the two...
      good service too.

The same debate was held with i guess manpreet and kuntalnag.
you both are right in many ways but few people makes sarcastic comments that is where i feel bad.

As i was talking about the vibration sound comes like piece of tin when i accelerate on high rpm like 8k-9k
went to Svc to get it checked( Tajshree yamaha nagpur)
I would say the the cycle mechanic would be better then the supervisors over their.
supervisors were never able to understand any problem and this being the main and head office for all yamaha dealers in vidharbha.
one of the svc mechanic told me that the sound comes due to some problem with "DECOMPRESSOR" Or "valve clearance" as it is increased with factory settings for first 12k kms as it is factory set and should not be touched untill 12k kms. WHAT THE HECK!
and adviced me to wait till 12k kms.
what should i do as the sound makes me feel uncomfortable when i move to hight rpms on road.
how can i contact yamaha customer care. plz share

Try a different service centre and adjust the valve clearance. The sound could be of the clutch bell too, but since the bike hasnt clocked much kms, it is highly unlikely to occur. And try a different mechanic from the same svc too if you dont have another svc in your locality. If everything fails, here you go. Shoot it. [email protected].
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

                • I have consolidated few points to be noted, for newbies. Please read them and then post your doubts/problems.

                  1. First read your manual carefully. Please get the owners manual and the service manual from the shop where you purchased the bike on Day 1 itself. Taking the bike without these is not recommended.
                  2. The First oil change should be done at 1000 kms or 30 days (earliest to be taken account). This is what the manual or Yamaha recommends. Changing oil earlier is not suggested by Yamaha. So decision is completely yours. Later for every 3000 kms or 70 days from previous service (earliest to be taken account) change oil.
                  3. Please use the Recommended oil grade specified by Yamaha in the manual ( Yamalube 15W50 SS). Again any other grade usage is against the recommendation.
                  4. Follow the Rpm limits specified in the manual- 6k rpm till first 500kms and 7.5k rpm till 1000kms. . Occasional bursts are OK, but prolonged usage of non-recommended rpm range is a big NO.
                  5. Do not lug the engine. When accelerating suddenly, from low rpm the bike will start pulling you after a specific rpm depending on the gears maintained, at that point. It is completely normal for this behavior, since the delivery at power band for each gear varies.
                  6. You might feel that the engine is overheating in the initial days. It is completely normal, unless the Overheating indicator in the console (red light) lights up. If this comes up, then check whether the fan is On. If not then there is something wrong in the fan (may be relay). If fan is working and still the overheating happens, then check the level of coolant. It might be low in level. But my recommendation is to take the bike to the SVC asap to get it checked rather than brainstorming here, since a warranty issue is involved here.
                  7. Fuel level indicator is not 100 % accurate. So if you want to check the Fuel efficiency the do tank full and start a trip. Then after riding some Nx100 kms fill the tank and calculate the FE by no of litres filled and kms in the trip reading.
                  8. The 'F' reading in the display shows that your bike is currently running low in fuel (Reserve). SO please fill up the fuel asap. After you fill it the F disappears after may be 10 kms of riding (may differ for each bike).
                  9. There might be a hissing sound from the front fork when you ride on a bump or irregular surface. This is normal, nothing to worry about.
                  10. Tank emblems might be removed by some idiots when you park your bike in an unsafe pace. You can procure the emblems in a Yamaha spares shop ( including the LE tank emblem). The 50th anniversary emblem on the tank is not available as of now. So forget it, if it is stolen.
                  11. If you hear a rattling noise from engine at specific rpms, yes it can be due to improper Valve clearance. But there are lot of other possibilities also.
                  12. Chain lubing, involves extra cost in SVC. This is general norm followed by Yamaha. If you want to do it yourself, then using WD40 or diesel is Ok. But don't use petrol for cleaning the chain. It kills the o rings. There are lot of chain lubes in market. Yamaha workshops use and sell Motul. There are other lubes like Tribocor, Rolon etc which can also be used.
                  13. Please use a central stand of RX for servicing the R15. It fits perfectly for our bike and costs around 310 i guess.
                  14. Gear changes will be rough at the initial period. It is completely normal. Max you can do to avoid them is to properly maintain the recommended oil at regular intervals and to lube the chain properly. IF it persists even after this then its ok ( initial period). If it persists at after say 10000 kms then there is something wrong. Please contact the SVC for the latter case.
                  15. Mileage observed by our members is displayed, above as voting results. Please refer there to see the trend, seen in this bike.
                  16. Tyre pressure to be maintained is 28 psi in front and 33 psi in rear.
                  17. Any alteration to the bike, mechanical or electrical (HID's) is against the warranty norms. Please understand this before attempting any of the mods.
                  18. The tank lock might seem tight at times to open. SOLUTION: spray chain lube inside the lock if its tight in opening.
                  19. If you have suffered punctures, then Tyre is not to blame. ride it on the road you will face less punctures. (FYI i have never faced a puncture till date, and yes i have gone on many kinds roads and on off-road too, lucky maybe)
                  20. Do not wash the bike with soap water (Hair shampoo, Body soap, surf exel :P ). USE normal water and do not wash the bike every day or once in 2 days or very often, paint might take a beating. once in a week is more then enough only when its too dirty.
                  21. The frequent use of closing and opening the Rear view mirrors will loosen the nuts of theirs. Keep a ring spanner handy.
                  22. VERY IMPORTANT. Read all the above again.

@ all members: Please post your views or suggestions to improve this post. I will add them.

@mods: If possible please post this post as the first post in this thread, so that newbies or anyone having doubt at initial stages, can go through this before posting any doubts. Saves time for all.

that's a good compilation. it would be a good idea to make this a separate thread titled say 'R15 V2 FAQ'. members could contribute to it with moderator approval. newbie's can find the answers to the usual questions all in one place.

@ all - I purchased the Viaterra Claw, got it delivered over the weekend. Good bag with lots of space. Opted for a black one but another friend was more interested so took his orange colored bag. It fits perfect, I'm yet to try it on a ride. Uploading a pic, the straps hold the bag tight, there are no movements even at hard braking, again, I'm yet to try it on with any luggage so cant comment. The straps have D-Ring setup for pressure and fastening, one of things I dint like are the straps look too small for the size and weight of the bag. I hope they provide the fastening without breaking loose.

This bag looks very nice and pure VFM from what i see. 55 liters capacity is more than enough for even a week long trip!
BTW can you please post a pic of the rain cover? The V2 has a tendency of splashing the water from rear wheel (hitting the bottom side of the bag) while riding in heavy rains. This happens if you have cut the mudguard (like our case).
