  • Yeah they need the chassis number for the model number and date of manufacturing. Yamaha engineer called me to nearest SVC. He thoroughly checked my bike. Gave me two new bikes for a short test ride. I was satisfied that the sound I heard was nothing but R15's characteristic sound.

In your case as it is with the same SVC,you dint have any problems. The problem arises when you go to different SVC. So its always safe to have a record of oil change

                yup, its always better to keep a record of services. and i sometimes used to put my comments on the service form/slip before paying up and collecting the bike.
                you should also do this, when they sometimes refuse to do certain jobs as per the service schedule. but i think yamaha will oblige, as long as the oil drain intervals are within service limits and you have a record of that from a ASC.

                    • @Eshan: While I appreciate and respect your involvement here, I want to request you to please refrain from being harsh on new riders and enthusiasts. While it may seem baseline questions, some of them are valid nonetheless and the newbies look upto experienced members to answer or direct them. Hence softer tone is warranted because we at xBhp believe in the philosophy - 'today a newbie, tomorrow a veteran', which is basically the standard way the whole world works.

Should I assume that its Fork Oil since your bike was involved in a fork issue lately? Please post clearly of what you need and what solution are you looking for.

                      Rs600 to fix, that's too much, shoot a mail to Yamaha stating this problem.

                      @All members

                      Please refrain posting petty issues like -

                      1) Is it okay to speed my bike at X speed at X KMS on ODO
                      2) Will something go wrong if the bike faces rough gear change
                      3) What is running in period and what KM/PH should I ride my bike
                      4) Should I go for Oil Change at X kms, I feel like doing so because it would smooth up the acceleration even if its against the manual
                      5) Front vibrations
                      6) Manual is boring to follow

                      This is a knowledge forum and not a complaint box, I can guarantee that your mentioned complaints will be only solved by going to Yamaha SVC or by mailing the Customer Care and not by any member here, at max they can guide you in knowing what the problem is, only if you post it properly. Quality of our V2 thread is going down, there are no knowledgeable posts, only rants and complaints when there aren't any. Please avoid SMS lingo on the thread.

                        Nothing to worry mate, it is supposed to be there to prevent spillage.
                        Just misplaced, turn it around and put it back behind.
