Ask for it then. It is pretty important, if any manufacturing defects were to be present if you don't have the book you will have to shell out the bucks to get it repaired or replaced.

Any one using Slime? It is available in the service center.
I haven't been using anything and till now (8000 kms) nothing has happened but on long rides there is always a worry regarding puntures..

      • I've had my R15 for the better part of the year and have loved it through back pains and highway blasts. Recently I got a Bell Star Hess, race grade helmet that weighs in at 1.6kg. Combined with the bad roads where I live, and the stiff suspension on the R15, the helmet caused me some persistent neck pains, so I've had to stop using it after spending a fortune for the helmet. Is there any way to soften the rear suspension? As it is now, I can feel even the smallest road bumps as clear jarring strikes. I've asked the dealer and service people who sold me the bike, they say the suspension is fine and perfectly normal. They suggested an additional cushion to be added to the rider's seat like a seat cover to soften the hard right.

Guys any suggestion would be really helpful. Thanks.

Forget softening the suspension. Why dont you let yourself loose when going on bumpy tarmac.

In Keith Code's Twist of the Wrist this issue has been sorted. Do not hold on to the handle bar tightly, hold the bar without any pressure. Keep yourself as loose as possible, be flexible when the bike is hitting pothole or bumpy tarmac and go with the flow. Let the motorcycle do its work, let the suspension work on its own. Till you dont be the bike things would continue to be the same.

          Hope this helps.

Along with the riding technique mentioned above by Eshan, this cushioning is also helpful. you can go ahead with that aswell.

Went to SVC today.. It's the clutch arm O-Ring which is the problem. It costs 10 bucks but to change that they need to access clutch plate.. So they say it may take a day to fix it And when the ring is cut and the engine is running oil leaks out due to pressure from clutch fork ( where clutch cable connects to engine ). They say it may get cut even in a 1 day old bike.. Wtf!! Why make such parts that too difficult to access.. So sad will there be any problem if they remove the case for accessing the clutch plate ???

Yes, there will be. The engine wont get enough air for combustion resulting in improper burning of fuel

you dont have to do anything, when you give the bike to SVC for service , they will wash the bike and at the same time clean the air filter.

At 1.6kg the Bell Star is a very decently weighed in. It is well balanced and its fit is like a velvet glove. There are very few helmets out there that will weigh substantially less than the Bell. At the most another 100 to 200 gms is what the difference would be between it and some of the other helmets, which would incidentally cost even more. Therefore, it's not the weight of the helmet that's a problem.

Are you sure that you have the correct size for your head? A loose fitting helmet is not just about inefficient protection, it's also about shifting weight which can put strain on your neck. A correctly fitting helmet should be tight enough so that if you try to move the helmet your face skin and scalp should move along with the helmet.

Secondly, as suggested people above, you need to make sure your riding position is correct. Riding sport bikes is a very physically involving activity. While my next advice may seem a bit far fetched, it still holds a lot of validity. I would also suggest that you consult a physical instructor and work towards strengthening you neck, shoulders and back muscles.

don't worry, the mechanics have probably done this a dozen times before.
though i am surprised that there is such an issue on a new bike.
