  • Hello,
I am facing little issue with my v2. so first of all to confirm, i got another v2 and cross checked the problem and finally writing to you guys.
When i accelerate hard to 8-9k rpm, whether its still or rolling, i find a noice like something is vibrating.
like a steel tin which vibrates, i found on another v2 that it was very smooth and noice free.
what are the parts which can affect in that way. Yamaha guys here in nagpur are not so great in research with vibrations.
I usualy ignore sound and vibration, but it was very clear from other v2 as the other rider gave me the same feedback after riding.
    Plz help

    • I really love the bike ... After a really long time I started enjoying riding again. But my wrist hurts after some time. Does it get better? Or is my wrist position wrong?

          • Ownership experience at 15,000kms

            Hello all

I am just uploading my riding experience over the months and kms churned under my A**.

The bike is awesome, I mean, I was looking for a serious upgrade from my Pulsar 180 and this one was tailor made to my needs. The bike handles just like a SBK, the feeling is equated but yes with some less power than a quarter liter or a 600. I'm completely pleased with the build quality that Yamaha India has provided, it is apt for the price they are offering, nothing more nothing less.

Maintenance has been a big plus point, last weekend I exhausted the 6th free servicing coupon which amounted to Rs 535 including SS oil, 2 Yamaha Logos and Taxes. The maximum I have spent till date is around Rs 1300 which had SS Oil, FR Brake Pads, and a Oil Filter. Regular maintenance was something I was giving importance, previously the amounts use to range from Rs 1500 to Rs 2000 for my Pulsar. This has been curtailed and I'm happy about it.

Fuel economy has been good too, I'm getting around 40-45kmpl, my total riding is on the highway so the figures are good. I perform the F to F method for calculating average and it has turned out to be very helpful. Parts are not that cheap but hey you dont need to replace them every now and then, for the price at which they are available sounds okay because they last long. Till date, the bike hasnt been gone any severe change of parts. The regular servicing is keeping the bike perfect.

The overall feel of riding this machine is different, you have to adjust to its make and design or else you are going to get the beating (Wrist, back and neck pain). You need to understand that this is not a ordinary 150cc bike that you buy from a showroom after knowing its features. It demands your presence, it expects you to come forward and do half of your bit and expect the bike to do so in return. This is where most of the new members experience posture problems and so on. I had to join a gym to get myself fit to sit on the bike for riding it in the required manner. You gotto figure out how its gonna work for you.

In all, I would like to say that it is a good bike and does delivers the numbers which are bolted in its manual. I do have found some flaws like slight vibration and bit rough gear change but that's okay since everything is not going to be perfect, even the one reading this post. But in all very happy to own this bike.

Next servicing at 18,000 kms, might go for fork oil and oil filter change.

yes wrong seating and wrist positioning will be the reason for it, check what eshan told in the next post of his experience. i get sprain little on my left wrist, this is mainly due to wrong positioning and clutch( since i dont give a @##$ to my wrist positioning while i am so engrossed riding and tend to change loads of gears while commuting)

nice! true about the work out part you told to ride the bike. the bike demands some amount of physical abilities ( sorry didnt get better word ) . body positioning is very important too.

                    • Was thinking of posting about this from long time, but God knows what was stopping me.
As prompted by Eshan for this here is some of the pics of Via Terra's CLAW: a perfect combination of Saddle bag and Tail bag which fulfilled my requirements of long touring.
55ltr bag enough for everything ranging from undergarments , tools to laptop and even camera and tripod alongwith extra bottles.
And yes the name is enough; CLAW it clutches to the bike perfectly and remains stable at high speeds, rough terrains and optimum corners too.Click image for larger version

Just one suggestion: while strapping the back from rear side, dont strap it along the rear tail, rather rope it aroung the number plate bar and then sttach it to valcro present on other side of bag.

It may because of tappet sound. Check with SVC and get the valve adjusted soon.

                          • vibration sound comes from the part near the engine which is covered with lots of plastic panels means "Engine se juda hai wo part jo vibrate kar raha hai"

Loose tappets are rare for Yamaha.
Rather, get your air filter clean properly and get your idle rpm set to 1.3-1.4.
                              Check if the vibrations persist.

Idle rpm is 1.4 and yes air filter is got to be cleaned.
but according to my experience, air filter does not cause any vibration. let me know if i am wrong but still i would get it done on coming saturday as i will take it to Svc. hoping for best as i dont want my v2 to be the one of the "Rarest"
                                thanks anyways
