      • Hi guys, I am not satisfied with the service done by the service centre in paras Yamaha Chennai. Any owners of Yamaha bike sees the way they handles the bike, blood will come out of their eyes. Ripping the bike hard and doing drifts and stoppies inside the service centre is not negligible. And even they Are not cleaning air filters and also not topping the coolant oil. So I decided to service my bike on my own.

At 8000 kms my service interval came. So I bought motul SS oil and motul chain lube .
Changed the engine oil as indicated in DIY thread of Xbhp and cleaned the oil filter with petrol.
Cleaned the chain with kerosin and lubed the chain with motul chain lube.
Since then I was using yamalube and now changed to motul engine oil .

And my question here is how to topup the coolant oil and time interval for changing it .

Time interval for lubing the chain for next time.

And I feel my rear disk pad is almost gone and going to replace it through a local mechanic. So how can I check the rear brake oil level. If there is low level what oil should be used for brakes?

        Thanks in advanced

I was not talking about the track day(when I said we would love to come down to B'lore) instead I was referring to YRC anniversary celebration day.

Or you're saying both are on same day?

            • Is it okay to prolong the swingarm and steering bearing greasing by a few months?

Track day is on April 5, 2013 whereas anniversary celebration event is on April 28, 2013. To give you a headsup, it would be a full day event, most probably at a place around 70 kms from the city. You are most welcome to join both the events. Do let us know how many would be coming and when so that we can arrange for your accomodation and everything else here. Also, if you are planning a ride around Bangalore around these dates, we can help you out with the places.

Top up : Remove both seats, U will find screws to remove the left carbon cowl under front seat.
Remove the screws pull th ecarbon cowl out, you will find a white reservoir containing coolant, pull out the top of the reservoir top up and you are done :-)

Time interval for coolant change :As per manual two years, but you should decide the interval to which you can extend.

Time interval for lubing the chain for next time.

                      500 - 600 kms.
Replies in bold for the stuffs I know:-)

My odo reads 11,750 Km now. I was pondering about doing it in May along with a servicing. One month equals to nearly 1000km for me

We're going to Goa in March end, so track day is out of scope. But we will surely try for YRC anniversary day and definitely let you know in much advance to avoid any inconvenience.
In case we decide at the last moment, all the headaches on us only, will directly meet on event day

                              • 7 months old, and had my first puncture today. Got it removed.
                                1) Anyone used/using slime products for treating punctures ? Are they worth it ?
                                2) And do we just have to remove the nail(what ever caused puncture) or do something else too?
                                3) Any idea about the cost of these ?
