I also doubt the correct circulation of coolant. But how do i check that ? Is there any way i can check it by myself and be sure ?Originally posted by Juris View PostSince you got 3rd servicing a few days ago, bad Engine oil cannot be the cause(assuming you changed the engine oil). Still check the engine oil for its color and level. If engine oil is not the culprit than the problem has to be with non-smooth circulation of coolant. I once had vapor lock and coolant wasn't circulated properly. If that's the case(which I doubt highly in ur low mileage bike), you ll have to replace head gasket and re-fill the coolant after draining the previous one or bleed and top-up.

I don't think anything is wrong with your cooling system. You say that the fan kicks in and I am assuming that the fan stops after some time. The coolant level in the reservoir has not changed. All these are indications that the system is working as it is suppose to. I suspect the only reason that the fan is kicking so frequently is due to change in ambient temp or riding conditions (stop and go traffic). Even a 2 - 3 degree change after a certain threshold can make the system trigger the fan.Originally posted by himanshunegi1987 View PostI also doubt the correct circulation of coolant. In Mumbai, for the past few days temp has shot up from 29 degrees to a high of 40 degrees. My bikes fan kicks almost instantaneously. On checking the coolant reservoir, I found the level has gone down. It's completely normal with such heat conditions.Last edited by abhimanyu31; 03-10-2013, 01:50 PM.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

Hi himanshunegi,Originally posted by himanshunegi1987 View PostBack from Rishikesh on my R15. Had my 3rd service done yesterday. Now i have started noticing that engine has started heating up sooner, fan start kick in sooner. My coolant level has also not gone down since it was filled during the first service. Any suggestions ?
And is it a nice idea to fit a mobile charger on r15 bike ? If yes, any particular choices ?
I recently posted a review about phone charger in Xbhp thread. The following is the link.
Hope it might be useful for you and others who are reading this post

Why would you dis-engage/pull in the clutch (lever) while braking? Pls avoid this habit.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostHmm..... Good joke. Clutch must be pulled in only to change gears. Your riding style is wrong. Riding this way, you're robbing the bike of engine braking as well as you face reduced traction because the power doesn't reach the wheel from crank due to the fact that the clutch is dis-engaged from transmission. (as good as neutral)

Braking should not preferably be done while the clutch is engaged, that said engine braking is supplementary.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostHmm..... Good joke. BTW, stop worrying about the bike too much man! We know we love our rides too much but the worry should be kept under a check. There are posers who barely service their bikes still they run fine. Bikes are bikes , not some delicate art pieces..Last edited by Sushrut; 03-10-2013, 09:19 PM.

If you have the full version of the video, it talks about throttle control as well. Braking with the clutch pulled in reduces the amount of torque getting passed on to the rear wheel and hence reduces traction.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostThanks man.. i used to drive like that from the very beginning i learnt.. This may result is tire skids in places like hills.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

lolOriginally posted by Sushrut View PostIs you bike stable while braking when you switch on the lights?
nowadays, if i brake with the clutch disengaged i get this vauge feeling something like when you are riding a bicycle and the chain comes off.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostGuys...Need some help. Got a bit of problem. Recently i feel that My bike is not That stable when i brake with clutch engaged.. But it is stable when i brake without engaging clutch ( Think so).. Is this normal?? i dint Run into any potholes tat hard.. i think i just ran over one medium sized stone which was buried just at 30kmph,which shouldn't have caused any problems..Checked the forks for damage but none. Dont know about alignment. Tyre pressure perfect. I dont know whats the problem..Anyone?? I feel like some kind of wobbly feeling when i brake with clutch engaged..
Or is it my mistake of braking with clutch engaged? i know we lose traction but i thought its only for cornering... anyone help plz
braking with the clutch engaged gives better control: when done correctly you will be in the appropriate gear and rpm range when braking is complete.
tips:
- make sure the throttle is completely closed before you start braking.
- to do this right you also gonna have to learn how to downshift while braking (not easy).Last edited by incipient; 03-10-2013, 09:37 PM.

i think divya is pretty much correct. you are giving too much speed to the bike while you pull the clutch. avoid that. braking is very important thing. if done correctly then its good. one mistake and its the end of the story. build up your confidence level too. i see lack of it here.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostGuys...Need some help.
