Congrats on your new bike! Try to maintain atleast 2 litres in the tank always, since our fuel pump should be submersed in the fuel at all times.Originally posted by Harish Menon View PostMy Black Beauty is finally home

As of now, there is only 1 ltr of petrol in it and maybe less. Should I fill up more and if yes how much is the minimum required because I don't intend to ride much till I get the papers (just gonna show off to friends :P). I need to know how much petrol should be there in the tank even when the bike is idle?
Congrats, Shubham! Wish you many happy n safe miles ahead....That temple was the first place my R15 had been to!Originally posted by Shubham@bikez View PostWhat an eventful day it was.

.
The bike is still in TC number. I should receive the number within 1-2 days max as per the guy who delivered the bike to me. Post which I will receive all the relevant documents. As of now, I have the First-Aid Kit, tool kit and the keys.
I was called to Thane RTO for the vehicle passing...(long story)...The bike not at all clean at this stage as the vehicle was directly brought from the warehouse. (ODO reading: 14 kms before I rode it home)
The showrooms sales guy told me once when I come to receive the documents, he will clean up and polish the bike and give it to me. The pics are not great because I suck at photography and my mobile camera is one of the best in the world (pun intended)

congrats.Originally posted by Shubham@bikez View PostWhat an eventful day it was. Me and my bro reached Bangalore Wheels at sharp 9 but well he had only one piece left( invincible black color) and that too with broken fairing and they were like take this bike sir…Later we will replace the broken part…. Well that was unacceptable … atleast to me…
and I declined his offer. I thought that I won’t be getting my baby R today…
. Then took out my phone and started calling all the Yamaha showrooms in bangalore…and finally after a series of calls ...got my baby R from perfect riders …
.and man I am so happy right now that I just cant express it… thanks to all of you guys for sharing your experience on this forum… It helped me a lot in deciding what to take….
……
PFA some pics ….
that is unacceptable from any showroom. selling bike which has broken things. thats why i had suggested you to have a good look at the bike. will get this to the ears of the BW head. Perfect riders are good too. i had got mine from the jayanagar ones. they can deliver any bike anytime if you have money ready.

The broken part is got struck in the engine cover itself. And whether the SVC guys open the entire engine cover and take the remaining broken piece or is there any other way out. And also the rubber in the oil filter cover got damaged and oil is leaking from that gap. Whether we have to change the oil filter cap totally or any other way ?

That is mess. Now what you can do is tell your showroom people that you got your bike in same condition with leakage.Originally posted by shaneadams View PostThe broken part is got struck in the engine cover itself. Atleast I dont have a solution, take it to the SVC and they should fix it soon.Originally posted by shaneadams View PostThe broken part is got struck in the engine cover itself. But you learn things only when you try doing it yourself. A broken nut or oil leak is still worth the try, I would say.Originally posted by Ron Syl View Postand this is the reason i say take it to SVC or mechanic. anyways its broken so take it to svc and replace it.

Brought my Baby R back to home !!
Hey guys !! The limited edition parts are expensive than the normal color one's . For Ex : Front cowl (L.E) costs Rs 1880 , whereas Front cowl ( normal color ) costs Rs. 750 only !! So if you own a Limited edition or going to purchase a new one , So guys please take extra precautions while riding a bike ! Ride safe !
Parts Replaced / Repaired
1. Front cowl
2. Head light assembly ( Right )
3. Middle cowl ( Right )
4. Fairing ( Right )
5. Foot brake pedal
6. Foot rest ( Right )
7. Handle bar ( Right )
8. Stay
9. Muffler 1
10 Muffler 2
11. T-Stem ( Repaired )
12. Inner tube assembly ( Repaired )
The bill amount was Rs. 10500 /- ( Including Taxes , Labor )
I have a Question -
I asked the service guy that why did you replace the head lamp assembly . He replied that , one of the head lamp holders got broken when the bike fell down and he said if I want to keep that Head lamp assembly , He said that I will feel vibrations on the handle bars and on fairings !! ( What that guy said is correct or not ? )Last edited by ArriveAlone; 03-07-2013, 04:52 PM.

Got my SOL 68S Unicorn II helmet from A.H Helmets Mumbai. All is going very well with my Baby R. 1800km on the odo. @Ron bro I didnt find any visible trauma on shock-ups, told svc guy to check it but he said it will be fine in my 2nd service n also he will show my baby R to his Service Manager. One more thing my Angel's radiator fan kicks in 2-3 times after 1st service, is that normal?Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

there's a rubber gasket from the inside of cap. you need to change that. retails for 10-20 bucks i guess at any yamaha SVCOriginally posted by shaneadams View PostThe broken part is got struck in the engine cover itself. To all those how-to-run-in-the-bike-oh-it's-so-confusing. Here's an advice.
Read and follow the OWNER's Manual. Keep it simple.. Old School technique will do more good than harm your bike

Now whether SVC people will open the whole engine cover or it can be taken out from outside totally depends on how this is stuck.Originally posted by shaneadams View PostThe broken part is got struck in the engine cover itself. You don't need to change the oil filter cap totally, only the rubber can be replaced.
He is correct. And in the long run, there is a high probability that the STAY will get broken too if you continue with a broken head lamp holder.Originally posted by ArriveAlone View PostHey guys !! I replaced and repaired some parts mentioned below -
