              • Engine Trouble Light - Please help!

                Hi guys,

I had a small accident this evening on my R15 V2 LE. Very minor one. Nothing happened to me or the bike (from what I can see). I was going through a small gap and a Mahindra Scorpio car hit me from behind and i lost balance and *nearly* dropped the bike but people were next to me and they helped. What happened immediately was that I obviously let go of the clutch and the bike stopped. Then, the Engine Trouble Light (Yellow color) started flashing on and off for a few seconds. Then, it stopped and i moved the bike to the side of the road and turned off the ignition for a minute and inspected my vehicle for any damage. After that, I turned my key to the ON position and started the bike and it started normally. I could not notice any difference or damage and I was able to ride it normally back to my house.

Is this anything to be concerned about?

                Note:
From the manual, I can see that the engine trouble light comes on when there is a problem with the electrical circuit monitoring the engine. The Jerk/hit must've caused it.

Anyways, I will be heading to the SVC tomorrow to give my bike for my 3rd service as well. ODO: 2788 kms.

No Issues, It is absolutely normal.
The engine warning lamp should come up and engine will shut off due to lean angle sensor, when the bike has a fall.
It will be back normal after turning off and turning on the ignition key...

                  • Hello All,
I am facing a problem with my bike. Engine stops abruptly. Situation is Clutch was held and I have tried to twist the throttle, engine just stops. I am seeing this problem soon after my first service. I have informed the service center but it is not rectified. Is there anyone faced similar problem? Please help with solution.

Is there anyone who faced this issue?

                    Thanks,
                    Sriharsha

                        • Its been 2 days since got the R15 home, so far done 80 some kms, after i bought the bike, i was skeptical about how will i get adjusted to the bike. I truly love this bike had test ridden both V1 and V2, moreover a friends V1. It was suddenly freezing temperature around 7.00 pm in the late Pune evening when i got my R15, and wasn't prepared for cold as i went to purchase the bike in afternoon. it hit 8 degrees something that evening. Apart from freezing, especially fingers don't know why, maybe due to too much anticipation of new bike through out the day. It was a dot 3 hour purchase, I mean from Walking into the showroom for the 1st time to Getting paper work, installations done and Driving it away, after a friend dropped me at the showroom, he just couldn't understand my stubbornness "I want the bike rite now!' i walked in the showroom with same grinning face, hungry and roaming around mid afternoon in the Yamaha Factory Story, Wakdewadi, Pune. The one and only, Light Weight Contender in India was there patiently waiting in a corner for me;

Wish i had bought the bike sooner, especially before getting married this year. Girls dig the bike, School kids behind their Dad on the Active say "WOW", loud enuf to be heard, Even the Yamaha fans in the Senior Citizens, Give a look not once but twice, Even MAMA gives respect on signals, and also got comments from fellow R15 user "White looks really classy". I feel its rather prone to make people envious of you or those who love you, they would be proud about you.

Have been driving it strictly in the afternoon, to be honest i am so worried about the bike, i think i am paranoid sometimes about someone scratching my bike in the road side parking accidentally or deliberately, think i have the new bike fever, which i think wont go. I went shopping on Wednesday to MG road, for helmet LS2 preferably, Probiker, Dreambikes DSG and Funkys, no where could find something that i wanted to spend my rest of probably years to come, maybe i am too committed to my old one.

cheers mate, good pictures there. Try Laxmi store on JM Road, you might get your LS2 there.
and scratches, they'll be there. No use running, accept them. Life will be simple.

                            • Toady went for first servicing of my babe(LE)..
total charges were 730/- in which oil+oil filter has been changed..gone as per manual and upgraded oil to yamalube semisynthetic oil which charged me 505/- and for the oil filter 167/- and the rest is councumable charges, inclusive of all tax total service costed 730/-.The svc centre guy asked me for a teflon coat which was aroundly 350/- but i was not intrested in it that waxing or polishing is better than teflon by reading a several articles in xbhp.. but one doubt arised in my mind i did he really pour the yamalube oil as i had some work i went out by leaving the bike for servicing and came after the svc called me that the byk was ready to tale..the differences that i felt after the first service is that gear shifts are smooth, earlier it was some what hard and the breaks everything were fine.but one thing is that i could identify any change in the smoothness of the engine, infact i was feeling somewhat hard while driving normally and also during revving and also a strange soung like vssssshhhh is coming while riding the bike most probably from the left side..is there any abnormal in the servicing or conditions??
