Its easy to install. That wont be a problem, but where is it found in India , thats a big question
Is this the route via pune or via amby valley? If I am not wrong, we can also reach Lavasa via lonavala->amby valley-> mulshi dam-> lavasa. Right??Originally posted by Karthik2501 View PostAwesome utility But is it simple to install? Has any body else tried it ??
Me and my colleagues are gonna be there this 23rd december

The oil should be holding well. Its Yamalube Semi Synthetic mate, they last for a good amount of 4000-4500 kms, although it turned water in my Pulsar in just 2200 kms. Anyways, you can ride her for the two days to college, no issues with that, but please confirm with the SVC about the warranty part. They are some mean and ruthless SVC people who can bring down the warranty clause if not followed. If you have good rapo with them, I don't think it should be a problem. I never poured the crappy Bajaj DTSi oil in my Pulsar after it clocked 1900 kms for 2nd service. Its 8200kms now on the odo and everytime I get them to tick the warranty intact checkbox.Originally posted by Sushrut View PostActually, had changed the oil and oil filter at 4th svc[5060km].At 5th svc, there wasnt much of mileage, so decided to change them on the 6th svc.Planned for the 28th of this mont[GUru nanak jayati holiday]The odometer now reads 8500km.Should I be riding her to college for two days?

The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place. It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.

Hi .. Fellow Xbhpians ..
Hi,
This is my first post at xbhp, so would like to apologize in advance for any mistakes i make while posting.
I recently got my hands on a Black R15 V2.0 last month... after riding a Kawasaki Caliber for 12 years.
Must say its a phenomenal machine and a brilliant piece of engineering, can definitely call it a baby R1, the kind of ride experience this bike gives can make you imagine what would the actual big boy (read the R1) would feel like.
I am not very good at reviewing bikes but heres the initial feel that I've got from it so far.
Ride and Handling : Probably the best handling machine I've ridden so far, the newer R15 is longer and has better geometry, the center of gravity is right where it should be, combine that with the new set of fatter tyres makes it a dream while cornering even on ridiculous Mumbai roads.
Engine and Transmission : Haven't really revved it since i need the bike to cover at least 1500-2000 Kms before i could exploit the power band. But the bike easily does 70-72 km/h in top gear at 5000 RPM (specified RPM limit for the first 1000 kms) which i think is ideal for cruising, the bike is capable of eating up kilometers all day at that speed/RPM. Just revved it through once (couldn't resist it !!) and found the acceleration very linear through all the gears.
Gear shifts are a bit not-so-precise, but i guess that ll iron out after the first 2 services.
Looks: Best in class. Goes without saying. Head turner at every traffic signal.
I intend to make a road trip to Gujarat during the Christmas holidays, should be a good 1000 Kms covered, intend to post pics and more after that.
Look forward to interact a lot more with you guys.Last edited by jjayrajj; 11-26-2012, 12:04 PM.

This happened on a nice sunny saturday afternoon.
I was going to friends place with him as pillion.. Suddenly some kat-kat-kat sound started coming from the rear wheel. First i thought it was chain/spocket noise. But all was good. Then checked the rim it was good too. Called up Kuntal he also checked didnt find anything wrong.. The sound was of some fibre/plastic part is what we concluded(It was not at exact regular intervals but frequency increased with speed) . When the wheel was rotated (tilting the bike) it made a the same sound but not as regular as it made when riding the bike. after a while of casual riding I went through a pot hole and voila the sound was gone. Bike was noise-free again
Yesterday again I had a pillion got the same sound once or twice.. But when riding solo the sound was not there. as surprisingly the noise started, the un-anticipatingly it stopped.
Please help riders.Keep Calm and Kaam se Kaam
To all those how-to-run-in-the-bike-oh-it's-so-confusing. Here's an advice.
Read and follow the OWNER's Manual. Keep it simple.. Old School technique will do more good than harm your bike

Please check with bearing hub of rear wheel, those ball bearings might have run out of lubrication. Check for replacement if the hub is broken. It sounds as if something is breaking inside a box with pressure, appears at times, very dangerous sound as if the tire will come loose.Originally posted by Sorcerer's apprentice View PostThis happened on a nice sunny saturday afternoon.

BTW - Pillion riding is bit tedious on the bike, you need to have the apt posture (esp the rider). Can anyone upload those guidelines on how to sit for the pillion on SBK, not finding it anywhere.sigpic

exact sound as if something is breaking.. That's one scary sound. Any idea how much time it'll take.. I'll have to find a way to go all the way to wakdewadi SVC during office hours.Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View PostPlease check with bearing hub of rear wheel, those ball bearings might have run out of lubrication. Who knows, might be there on 23rd as well.Originally posted by chiragsthakur View PostIts easy to install. That wont be a problem, but where is it found in India , thats a big question

Me and my colleagues are gonna be there this 23rd december
Via Pune, Wakad, Pimpri Chinchwad, Maharashtra to Lavasa, Maharashtra - Google Maps
Via Amby Valley. There is a route i suppose, but never used it, so can't suggest much.
Ask in Pune/Mumbai threads.
@All - Changing to shell SS and Iridium this servicing and may be white LED's for pilot lamps.
Ride feels low on power and handling/stability/vibration woes continue, front brake isn't enough for my type of riding.
Hope this Saturday is end of these issues.
But new tires made my day, fantastic grip on Lavasa curves. This ride does get you high at times. No offence to Mr. walker.
Ride On,
Akshat

Hi all ,
My Rachel has crossed 13000 km in the ODO so far,
and six services has been done. after receiving from the sixth service
im having some strange vibratory noise from the front disc area and also continuos vibratory and scratchy sound from bottom of the bike
i doubt whether its from the chain lag or chain rubbing the running area.
kindly advise the counter actions for the same
and aside to my dear chennai friends ,, please anyone tell me the best place to give our babies for service
because all my first six services were done at JAINS yamaha service , T nagar
and their service quality and persons keep on changing ,and their reaction to my queries seems vague
so im planning to give my Rachel to a good service station
to persons with sound knowledge about its mechanics and electronics
expecting your support guys----------------------------
