Osram Silverstar is available online with high delivery charges and company's website is not showing any info about it ,only available in 55w for cars.. Means they have discontinued silverstar 35w HS1 , night racer 50 is costly ..
My stead is currently installed with Osram Bilux HS1U 35/35W.
friends any suggestions ..>>>>Beware of Zombies<<<<

I have installed the Philips Extreme vision 60/55W for my low beam. High is still stock. You could try the same.Originally posted by D.j View PostEven I am also wanting to upgrade the headlights .. But don't wanna go for 55/60w bulbs ...

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
It is the equivalent of running both lamps in 35W actually. It doesn't burden the battery unless u plan on using both beams all the time. I would rather burden the battery than ride in bad light, honestly.Originally posted by manjuadiga View PostThank you for the reply.. but Higher wattage like 55/60 w is actually burden to battery. . .

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Try changing pilot lamps , blinkers and license plate lamps into less wattage LED . that way you could reduce little more burden on battery while in need of high beam operation.Originally posted by manjuadiga View PostTotally agreed:thumbup:

Yes. .. I already replaced stock lights with led's on pilot and number plate display lights. . As told im thinking of upgrading only one especially low beam light to 55/60w..Originally posted by Ram Shankar Ramasamy View PostTry changing pilot lamps , blinkers and license plate lamps into less wattage LED . that way you could reduce little more burden on battery while in need of high beam operation.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Very true about FS oil. The engine feels refined even when redlining and after continuous riding of 8hrs. The gear shifts are precise. I dont care about the mileage anyways. Using Motul 7100 20w50 from 10k kms. Bike is now 32k kms. Still feels smooth as new.Originally posted by Ivin View PostI dont know what is the myth behind this first 5k kms. I hope you take a sbk or a high compressed engine and run it with mineral oil and do a good test. And the manual with the service centre people does recommend SS oil to be used in the R15(dont know the latest one).
FS oils are also more stable at a variety of temperatures. They don’t thin out as much as mineral when they get hot or excessively thicken in cold weather and in the Current Indian weather conditions, I would close my eyes and chose FS. And with longer drain intervals, reduced deposit formation and slightly better fuel economy , I do think its better to run the engine under manufacturers choice of oil. I dont think R15 can have any issue with using mineral oils as I know many using them, but thats no longer needed on modern engines and especially as Yamalube FS costs ₹450, it wont drill a hole in the pocket as well.Last edited by chiragsthakur; 03-14-2016, 12:25 PM.Yamaha RX135 (1998) - Stolen
