At idle, I feel mild vibrations in the outermost fairing panel, but not in front fender or mirrors. Footpegs vibrate a bit in 4-5k rpm range. I guess first oil change should ease this.

i have an inquiry. anyone here knowledgeable enough to tell me if Yamaha R15's "engine" is imported as a whole from Japan or is it completely manufactured in India, under Yamaha Jp supervision ofc. Or could it be that the engine parts are imported from Japan and then engine is assembled here ? I need to know this for a reason..

          • New Rear Tyre for R15 V2

            Hi All,
I am going to change the rear tyre of my r15 v2.0 and am interested to try out the pirelli sport demon 130/70-17 .Enquired about the same and a dealer is quoting a price of 3600 rs .Is the price correct ,,since I found lets gear up quote it at 4800,so have a bad feeling that the dealer quoting 3600 may be offering a fake one.Is there any way to determine if the tyre i am buying is genuine or not.
Any other suggestions are also welcome.I do not want to get the stock mrf's again because they are too puncture prone. Please suggest some good and genuine tyre dealers in bangalore, preferably someone who stocks up pirellis.
            Thanks in advance..

            • Battery for Yamaha R15

              Dear Experts/ Experienced Friends,
My Yamaha R15 is almost 2+ years old now and needs a battery replacement.
I called up Yamaha Service Centre in Gurgaon but they refused to provide a battery - thus my only option is to buy one from a dealer.
I understand that Yamaha provided Tata Green battery (12V, 3.5Ah) as standard equipment. However, in some discussion threads, I've also seen that a battery of 5Ah has been recommended.
I request your help in suggesting the right / most suitable battery - basis your valuable experience.
              Thanks a lot in advance!
              Happy New Year

                Hi Guys,

I am planning to Buy R15 v2 but I wanted to know if someone here has experience riding CBR250 along with R15.
I want to know which one has a smoother engine aka lesser vibrations.

I don't care about ergonomics as I have experience in long distance cycling where the seat is higher than the handlebar
Sure CBR has more power but I am not gonna go more than 70 or max 100Kmph.(40-60kmph is my usual) and both bikes can do this speed easily. (as far as I have read)

I have posted this query in CBR250 thread too.

                Your honest opinion is appreciated

Bearing an engine of a smaller displacement, the R15 has a smoother engine than the 250R. Let me clarify here, that both engines are really refined, and the only thing that should concern you regarding vibrations, is how comfortable you are with them.
And given your speed requirements, the R15 should do you great and will return a better FE too. However, if you intend on some serious touring with good sections of hills and mountains involved, the 250R would obviously get you there with greater ease.
The R15 is lighter and that makes it easier to chuck her into corners, but the 250R's weight and wheelbase will provide better stability on straights.
My suggestion is, go with the 250R if you have the budget and the FE is okay with you. Also, if you take the ABS option, that's an added security feature, always comes in handy! A good pair of riding gloves should dampen the vibrations felt through the handlebars to a great extent. And about the vibrations felt at the seat etc., I'm sure that is liveable with. I have a 150R and have ridden a couple of 250Rs belonging to a few friends, and the only time I realised that the 250R has more engine vibrations is when I rode my 150R immediately after a spin aboard the 250R.
Both bikes have their own plus points and shortcomings and it's upto you to decide which one has stolen your heart away!
                  Take care, ride safe.

as per my experience, Amron is the best and long last (3 to 4 years).no issue of bettery drain and low voltage. (even when i fitted 2 p220 projectors of 55w each .)

                        Hi,

Just wanted to check with you'll regarding a feedback I got from the dealer. I went around Christmas time to book this bike in Mumbai. However three different dealers told me that they don't have a single piece in stock and that production has stopped for this year and the bike will come with new colours around Feb, which is when it'll be available. Anyone else heard something similar? I'm keen on getting this bike soon! Was wondering when I should book it. Does this bike generally have long waiting period in Mumbai these days?

Also which is the best dealer in Mumbai? Is Kamla Yamaha and Kamla Landmarc Yamaha of the same guys?

                        Thanks in advance.

Hi Mate, for projectors, do you use both projectors at a time or 1 for low & another for high beam??

Have you gone for coil rewinding??

I have gone for 35W projectors, both are used at one go if you are in high or low beam which has eaten up the stock battery. Planning to upgrade to 7A battery bit i doubt the coil would support it.

In fact it was the exact same reply we got when we went for booking an R15, stating the production has stopped and we won't get them until next year. For what? Only Shilpa Shetty knows why. We got the 220 instead. I am not sure about the colors or any refreshments being done to the bike, all they were eager was to sell the V2 and V1 was not in the radar for them. But since it's two different poles and both the guys have the same reply, perhaps let's see what Yamaha has to offer.

                              Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                              The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                              THE END
