So it is ok that those bikes come with some rust on inner rims of disc?

When I was taking delivery of my bike, a limited edition r15 was right aside my bike. It had rust in between the tank and fairing. Even then the customer accepted it happily

It will be best to wait until it arrives. I dont think any svc will stock it. They give order and usually comes in 10 days time. And about stickers, I searched whole of India and didnt find any single Yamaha outlet selling stickers. So, changing the part is the only option which will come with the sticker attached.

            • I took a turn on reducing my gear to 1st.. after turning i gave a hard acceleration there was a wheel spin (like kind of skidding).. is it that the bike doesnt offer much grip? Or it happens with all the bikes??

What would you expect if you give a hard acceleration in the 1st gear? not being rude here, but your post is funny to me. looks like you are still learning the bike, good thing actually and be careful because most of the guys accelerate hard in turns and end up falling.

Its simple physics my friend. what you said is normal. happened to me too. the bike has got power so it will happen. The concept of 'Grip' is misunderstood by many guys, especially guys new to performance oriented bikes.

other guys, if i am wrong anywhere then lemme know. what i said was out of my experience with my bike. have been through various situations on it and many experiments done

                • 5th Servicing experience

                  Hello guys,
Just done with 5th servicing last friday at ODO 11797 kms.

If you look at the Service manual, the servicing after every 12K kms is the most important one as it invloves many parts replacements.
I took my bike to SVC at 8 am in the morning as to get back the bike asap and to test it before the next day ride of around 700kms.
To my surprise when I told the mechanic to change/replace the parts mentioned the manual, he was like 'it's not needed at all'. I had to literally argue with him to make him go along with the service manual. After all said and done at around 9:30 am, he was convinced and asked to me to take the bike at around 5 pm in the evening as it involved lot of works.
When I came back at 5:30 pm, I got the bike and checked and came to know they didn't even change the Spark Plug. They said everything is fine,no change/replace required.
I said it's a matter of 150 bucks only, I would like to go with the manual. So when they were about to change it, the Plug Cap was found to be broken( so it was needed to be replaced and more over to be checked by them, which they didn't). Spark Plug/cap replaced.

The bike was ready by 7 pm in the evening.
And the shocker was still awating, the service charges. As Teejayy already posted his bill details I was quite sure what my bill could be, but I was wrong.
                  I am posting the details:

                  Parts charges:
                  Engine oil: 505
                  Oil filter: 167
                  Air filter: 237
                  Fork Oil(175ml): 250
                  Consumable: 160

                  The labour charges:
                  Steering Bearings lubrication: 300
                  Fork oil replacement: 360
                  Wheel bearings lubrication(front): 150
                  Wheel bearings lubrication(rear): 120
                  Swingarm lubrication: 200

                  Total of spares: 1320
Total of labour: 1130-------------------And that's for a free servicing as whatever the tasks were done, nothing was a 'special' request, everything is mentioned in the Manual.
                  Serv Tax 12.36%: 139.67

                  Then Spark Plug (Plug+Cap assy): 85+76= 161

                  Net Amount: 2751/-

I think that SVC centre was doing those for the 1st time (in 5th servicing) and wondering what to charge.
Now I am gonna write a mail to Yamaha about the details and would like to get a clarification.

If any one else also done with 5th servicing, please post the details.

You didn't allow the motorbike to be in stable position ready for a linear burst of acceleration. law of physics come into play here.
Ron's post should guide you, he is right. You don't hard accelerate at stand still<you said first gear> turns unless you are preparing for a stunt game.

Yep, they won;t do until you tell them to.
They just changed my air filter and spark plug without telling - Don't remember the bill.
Rest I had to go again to get the lubrication<all things in your labour charges> and fork oil changes - costed around 900 INR total.

For everything you say, they have the same answer, Bhaiya jarurat nahi hai, kyun bekar paisa kharch kar rahe ho.
Then you have to push and get it done. Such is the state mate.

                      • @Kuntal - Which SVC did this happen? Please retain the bill so that when you shoot a mail to Yamaha you have your proofs ready. Btw why you need swingarm, front and rear wheel lubrication so early? Not required I guess!!!

About the lubrication, all those are mentioned in Manual to be done in 5th servicing.
You know dude, how obsessed we are about our bikes, so didn't dare to go against the manual

happens. to everyone. just make sure not to accelerate hard in those situations. i call it "Oopsie situations" lol. but you got to trust yourself and the bike in any situation. i have known a guy who said that he didnt want to apply brake as he thought he would skid {while he lost balance while speeding in a corner} but he ended up crashing. so you got to be very quick and trust your bike and yourself in those situations.
