    Hi guys!
I'm new to xbhp and I need some help from the experienced riders.
I own Yamaha R15 V2. I have completed only 700 km on my bike.
I have got the first service done. But I'm facing some issues after the first service.
The bike now vibrates little bit. Once I cross 4K rpm on 4th or 3rd gear, the fuel tank vibrates (I can feel it on my thighs).
Another point to note was that the self start does not work when the bike is in gear. It only works when I bring the bike to neutral. Earlier the bike could start in any gear.

Yesterday, I noticed some spark from the bottom. I was riding and I shifted to 3rd gear and revved the bike. Suddenly I saw some kind of spark coming from bottom area (maybe near the gear box) to the top right(I could see the spark going like a cracker). The sound was, sort of, some kind of short circuit.

Any kind of help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Prashant

Well vibrations might be due to loose screws, I havent felt any in my ownership till date.

About the bike not starting when in gear, its a safety feature. Press the clutch and start it, it should in any gear.

Sparking can be seen only near the spark plug area if water is in contact, that might have seeped in during washing. Get it checked by SVC

        Guys Need help,

My bike is 4444Kms old and I am facing some issues.
        1. There is a sound which comes when the engine is start and clutch is not engaged , when I pull the clutch lever it reduces.
SVC told this is due to clutch bell , and told me that this can be rectified by putting a rubber ring on the Clutch Bell and will last upto 10,000KMs . This rubber band is a Oil ring rubber. Part No. 2YAE63690000 cost Rs.20 .
Still the issue is there and now the SVC mechanic is saying this is normal in all R15 v2.0
        2. There is a continuous Trrrrrrrrr........... sound when I release throttle above 40Kmph, like we do in normal engine braking . Do you guys also hear the sound when you release throttle at this speeds ?
        3. My bike is having alot of vibrations in handlebar, footpegs (especially Right One) and too much engine noise. Front Handle greasing done today at SVC but no effect .
        4. I am also facing issue when swerving it seems that the there is some thing which is blocking the movement of my handlebar, especially when I swerve Left.
        5. Bike does not feel smooth when I ride it above 5k RPM , earlier it was way smoother and wanted to rev hard in 6-9K RPM range . I can easily hold speeds in this RPM range. Now it vibrates badly and engine sound is harsh.
        Some Info:
-- No power loss , My bike achieves speed above 140 easily, no mileage drop (last mileage is 48Kmpl), Last oil used is Yamalube Mineral 10w40 current is Yamalube Synthetic 10w40.

Also please suggest any other SVC in Delhi which is best for R15. Currently I go to Delhi Scooters Rajouri Garden.

I'm facing this too, but on my Honda Unicorn 160. I spoke to a Yamaha mechanic, who said that this might be due to a worn bearing and O-ring used in the counter balancer.

Stick to stock tyre in my opinion. Its the best for r15. Rather than michelin , you can give a try to Pirelli.

              4. I am also facing issue when swerving it seems that the there is some thing which is blocking the movement of my handlebar, especially when I swerve Left. Coneset? Too early it seems.

Thanks Chirag for your reply ..
Yeah the greasing was done in remediation to handle bar swerving issue .
Does not seems to be a problem with cone set as handle moves freely when checking on centre stand at SVC .
I am mostly worried about the vibrations in handlebar and foot peg, it increases with increasing RPM even that much that at RPM above 7k speeds above 80 kmph handle bar starts to shake ..
Engine become harsh above 5k RPM ..

I'll try to get his checked thoroughly..
Does your engine sound varies when pressing clutch and releasing?
What engine oil you use ?
Thinking of shell advance ultra 10w40 or motul 300v ..

I'm not sure too. I'm also a noob😂. Speak to the Yamaha mechanics about this. If required I'll provide you with the number of the Yamaha technician i spoke to.

Well I am planning to go to yamaha SVC on 8th April .. I am sure he is aware about this bearing part .. As I also heard him saying this to another technician ..

Yes engine sound changes a bit when the clutch is depressed.

I use Motul 7100 20w50 FS. This oil is perfect for r15. Smooth gear shifts. Smooth engine performance over long distances. Higher drain intervals.

I told the vibration issue to the SVC guy and he said that the engine tappet is loose. The wind shield was also loose and he fixed it. He said that he will fix the tappet problem in the second service as the engine was very hot at that time. One thing more, is it normal in new bikes to heat up quickly? My bike's engine gets heated up whenever I revv it above 4k. How can I assure the the cooling system is working properly? (I checked the coolant level and it is fine) The engine should cool down while the bike is running due to liquid cooling mechanism, but it doesn't cool down. Even though I can hear the fan working, still I don't feel the engine to be cooling down.

As long as the engine is revved, the engine should not get hot. My bikes fan kicks in, when I am riding on 1st or 2nd gear in traffic conditions, otherwise it never kicks in during highway runs.

I am quite sure that your vibration problem will settle down before the second service. If it does, do not do anything with your engine for adjusting tappet.

As far as your question about new bikes getting heated up quickly, answer is YES, it will. The electronics are in place to notify you if the bike is heating abnormally. So just chill

And dont pour water on hot engine
