Maybe they'll be changing the body kit as you said!
But my query is will the bike be healthy after changing the body kit? Is there any problem in doing that like loose nuts, vibrations, etc.?
And moreover the body kit costs around ₹20,000 as mentioned by the staff in service center!
Thanks for helping me out! ☺️
And sorry for replying late as I was little busy for the past 2 days!
Brother, I was in the exact same spot 2 years ago (march 2014). I was fresh out of college and had dreamed about the R15v2 since I was in second year. So I saved up all my pocket money, got a job right after college, saved all my salary and was ready to buy the bike. I wanted the Blue one, which was stopped about 2 years ago ie in 2012, as it was replaced with motogp blue and white. So I went to the showroom and told them straight that I wanted the old blue color or else I am not buying. The assistant took me and my dad to the manager and he said no problem, we will build you a new one. We have the body panels in our inventory, and will strip a new bike and replace all the panels at no extra charge. So they asked for 5000 rs booking amount and 10 days time in case they don't have any panel, but everything was in stock and the bike was build it in 3 days. and no EXTRA MONEY was charged.

Now, I chose the bike that was to be stripped and converted, so I know it was a brand new bike, I check the engine no. chassis no of a motogp blue and white and the same got converted to my Blue bike. The fit and finish was exceptional. Even after 2 years, no vibrations, no problems, So I know the technician did a great job.

So I guess its just a matter of how the manager is. My good luck was that the people were nice and helpful. You just have to find the right place with good people. And never pay anything more than what is the on road price, if they ask for it, better visit another dealer. Hope you get your dream bike soon. Cheers
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

All i can say is I go there very early morning with my friends fully geared up and we do have guys at both ends of the turn who warn us about any traffic( never seen any at that particular time). And it's almost 12 kms away from the city.! SAFETY FIRST that's what we believe in.! Unfortunately there is no race track anywhere in the entire state so we try to create a controlled patch of racetrack.!

Sorry for being a prick but in the past 3-4 months a couple of known xbhpians who were riding their machines on public roads have met an untimely end.It was not their fault and i don't condemn them neither i wish bad for any body but its said discretion is the better part of valor. Better be safe than be sorry.

While I appreciate the thinking on your part with regards to safety, but please explain me this - how to your friends inform you about an incoming vehicle/other danger while you're on the move? Do you guys own intercom units like Sena? Or do the so called markers simply wave their hands frantically?

And by fully geared, do you mean a riding jacket + riding pants + gloves + full face helmet + riding boots?
End of day, its not safe. We have had multiple "safe expert racetrack" riders meet accidents and have horrendous injuries. Few have left us forever.
            Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

We use a app from the play store called strobe on our phones if there is traffic my friend would turn the strobe on and start flashing the light if there is no light the road is clear. There is rarely any need for it though as the road is clear all the time. And we do wear helmet, leather jackets, gloves, shin and knee protectors I'm saving toward a one piece suit though. No riding boots but we wear regular shoe. We choose a turn stop there and makes passes one by one and then move on to another turn.!

I would have showed you a video which i got through whatsapp in which a cbr1000 guy just saved in a corner where he lost his control & bike was going to hit an oncoming bus. So bottom line is no matter how much you are kitted up with safety gears public roads are not meant for cornering practices.

There is no harm in having fun in corners... We all do it.. That is the best part of biking..
But when you ride on public roads the idea is to keep sufficient room for error(either you or the oncoming traffic).. At 120kph there hardly any time or space for correction if something goes out of control...
Lean hard, get ur knee down.. But better do it at a safer speed

You are not getting the point.Forget the gloves, Forget the one piece suit,Forget the app store too. what makes you think that your bike is capable of cornering at 120 kmph safely in a public road??.A little bit of dust or error or a stray dog and forget the one piece suit you are saving for you will be calculating the pieces of your broken fairing and plastic parts or worse your bones.
Still if you want to go ahead and make your day be happy and move, but please don't publicize this erratic act in a public forum.
"i get head shakes at 120 kmph when i exit a corner in a public road" lol this shows the so called safety first attitude that you claim.

In my place, (Coimbatore) these people ask only ₹3000 extra for that colour and they say they don't replace the body kits, they just order one from the factory and buy it just for me!
How far it is true bro?
Shall I go for the same colour then?

They are lying, no factory will produce a single piece just for you, all they are going to do is strip a new R15 and replace the body panels.
Let me tell you what my showroom manager told me. He said "The factory has stopped making blue colored bike, but they still make its body panels, cause people crash their bikes and panels, fairings and tanks need to be replaced every now and then, so they still make blue colored fairings, so we will check for blue colored body panels in our inventory, if we find every part of the body kit - you will get your bike soon, if not we will order that colored body part from the factory and complete the bike, but that may take time. So please book the bike with 5000 rs and give us 2 weeks time."

I asked if there was any extra money I have to pay, and he said - "no, the price is same pick any color bike you want, the difference is time, you can have one of the existing colors right now, but you have to wait 2 weeks for the bike of your choice."

Then he called the technician who services R15 and asked him about blue colored panels, he confirmed that the they had tank and front fairing in stock, and have to look for other panels in the ware house. He also reassured that he himself will strip the bike and rebuild it, so I paid the booking amount, choose a brand new bike, noted its chassis no. and engine no. and went home. They called 2 days later, that the bike is ready, my dad went to look at it, and we brought it home on the third day.

The guys you are dealing with are not honest, so I can't advice you about them. If you think that the more money justifies the color, go for it. If you think it is waste of money, get the color that is in production. Listen to your heart and go with it.

I live in Dehradun, capital city of Uttaranchal. The showroom I went to is the largest one in our state and he is authorized Yamaha distributer. All the bike come from Delhi to his warehouse and are then sent to all the showrooms all across my state. So it is a very big showroom and you always find what you are looking for. And people are really nice and truthful.

Please feel free to ask any more questions you have, and hope you get your bike soon.

Now the extra money is not an issue, as they are asking just ₹3000 extra!
What to do to make them accept that they strip the bike and rebuild it?
And in your bike did they changed the rim stripes which comes similar to the bike colour?
Thanks a lot for your timley help brother! ☺️☺️
