Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Pulling my query from the R15S thread for better visibility because I need some responses on this ---
I wanted to fit in a main stand on my bike, you know public parking is a biatch with this low hanging side stand. But the svc main guy suggested against it, stating that in a long run if the chain becomes loose, the main stand will rub against it and probably ruin it.
What do you guys think of that? And did anybody manage to do it properly yet and any observations please?
The rains are starting in Pune and I'd like to keep the chain cleaned and lubed after every run in rain, so I'll need a main stand for that as well.
Thanks.

Get the main stand from yamaha, remove it when riding, use it when lubing chain etc. Public parking is a *****, but just be careful and find a good spotOriginally posted by PrinceCruise View PostPulling my query from the R15S thread for better visibility because I need some responses on this ---

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Got my bike fully serviced with an upgrade of stock engine oil semi synthetic to motul 7100 fully synthetic..and even the engine coolant to motul. Replaced the front tyres to MRF zapper 90/90/-17 as i couldn't get michelin pilot sporty as it was out of stock with one of the nearest dealer and i couldn't wait much as the old tyres where in a bad condition.after the service my personal experience on my bike was quite a bit different:
Motul 7100: engine oil is really good feels more acceleration and power added a bit to the bike.
MRF TYRES: really embarrassed with the new tyres as the height have slightly increased and it feels hard on the road.
.the old one 90/80-17 was much better.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Nope, not the racing stand. My SVC uses the RX-100 stand as a sort of temporary main stand for use during the service. It can be installed and removed very easily in approx 5 seconds. Cost, when I asked, they quoted around 300Originally posted by PrinceCruise View PostThanks man. Do you mean the racing stand eh?

Fully synthetic yamalube engine oil costs ₹400/- and yes we can use engine oils which you have mentioned. I have tried motul 7100 and bike was running very smooth.Originally posted by prasath_xbhp View Postwhat is the price of this oil, [B]YAMALUBE SL 10W40 Fully B]

I recently switched to YL full synthetic. It's last roughly 2000kms and there is considerable drop in oil level such that I couldn't find trace of oil in dip stick. Got scared and went for oil change and found about 150ml drop in quantity. (note - most redlining with Leo Vince FFE) Also witnessed oil in air filter box. I think that mostly because of my riding style.
But at first time I switched from YL s.synthetic to full synthetic I felt a very tight engine running feel every day for initial 10-20 kms. After that the engine revs as usual. Its always better to sweat than to bleed. Wear helmet.
Ride Hard .. Ride Safe. And Ride Responsibly.
